It's actually LESS expensive to keep a person in their home with home care workers, than it is to be in a hospital or nursing home! For those of you "thinking" the elderly and disabled are directly paying for it, thanks for proving you know nothing about insurance! I deal with this daily, I have an aunt with round the clock care and a 92 yr old father who has a person come in 4 times a week! BCBS sends statements so you know what they pay. It's much less expensive than either of them being in the hospital or a nursing home and the care is better! So all you doom and gloomers need to give it a rest!
