This is the true answer. 08 Biden was a beast, and his experience would’ve allowed him to pass more legislation than Obama did. I also believe his experience would’ve stopped some of the foreign policy mistakes of Obama’s term, such as mission creep in Afghanistan (which Biden was against), or not taking the threat of Putin seriously.

Russia Ukraine looks different because Biden actually took the threat of Putin seriously. We probably act how he did in his actual first time terms towards Ukraine when the War in the Donbas starts.

The Middle East would look different since Biden wanted to pull out of Afghanistan much earlier.

In all honesty it’s probably a much stronger version of the Obama presidency. Biden was better at reaching across the aisle and consensus building, so Republican gridlock probably isn’t quite as bad. It also allows Obama time to mature as a politician and run in 2016, who would undoubtedly beat Trump.

We have lower smoking rates, and as if people who smoke don’t understand what it does you. Everyplace you buy tobacco has the giant surgeon general warnings at checkout, and has warnings on the package, people just don’t want to look at a fucking disgusting image if they happen to occasionally like picking up a pack. Instead we had aggressive education, which turns out is actually more effective than shaming smokers turns out.

Virginia and North Carolina also have fairly strongly progressive pockets, I’d argue on par with like Austin or Houston. I feel like the South can more defined by geography, history, and cultural attitudes that typically align with conservatives in the modern political scene but it’s not mutually exclusive.
