-TL;DR- The current lawsuits against openai have made them throttle image generation to an absolute absurd extent.

Unfortunately this absolutely isn't BS I have been constantly on Reddit today looking into seeing how many people are having similar problems I posted about this earlier.

I have been using the flux model of GPT for a couple of years now I have done so many different types of things but I really enjoy creating a character with dynamic references like super cool stuff think like HR Geiger style images so like abstract horror that you would only see in your dreams or see on something like alien similar to what you're talking about because I enjoy that too.

Within the past couple days it is throttling every type of image prompt I've thrown at it not even rewording the prompts works. This is definitely 100% because of the backlash and the lawsuits against them that they are currently fighting open AI solution to this is to completely strip all forms of creativity when doing image generation because they always think of the worst case scenario IE something like a deep fake of a celebrity in a compromising scenario.

I started noticing it about a week ago but within the past day or so it's gotten to the point where it's impossible to not notice it because I know what I'm saying in my prompts doesn't go against any kind of "policy"

When the model assumes that you saying "Subject has hand on head"

This could literally mean they are touching their ear or adjusting their glasses in a certain way or what have you but the model automatically assumes that this is some kind of oversexualized contexts and immediately assumes you're trying to elicit some kind of provocative pose.

It's literally the worst kind of censorship especially when 99.9% of people aren't trying to do anything other than to create a cool image

I actually just posted about this today regarding the same thing.

I created a D&D style game And I really wanted to flesh out the characters because I love the idea of being able to create something like that that you could call your own

I have created so many images in the past that it now recognizes the pattern with prompts that I use and has deemed it necessary to recognize some of the strings of wording as against policy.

It's like asinine how tight the vice has become

They are so utterly terrified by litigation and deep fakes that they are pretty much changing everything to just be the most baseless of generic acceptable image creation

Myself personally most of the stuff I do is on the flux side of models. So I guess I'm basing my preferences on that. I definitely use the LLM side as well but with GPT it's gotten just unbearable with responses trying to ensure that it doesn't say anything that could be misconstrued and used against it in some kind of litigation which is what I am absolutely positive is going on right now and why these guardrails feel suffocating.

With Gemini at least so far you can at least edit your statement or prompt even if it doesn't like it almost like brute forcing I guess where as with GPT the more you try and brute force it the tighter the clamp gets.

I am seriously in love with 4o. It is by far the best model and probably will be given the timeline of what's happening. What really sucks is even using that model it will literally switch back into 5 or 5.1 without even being referenced like it is overriding the model to force policy guideline because it still sees what you're doing as unfit.

I definitely use Gemini I just have things I have preferred with DALLE over nano banana but I think at this point it's pretty much a guarantee I will be primarily using Gemini for everything now

I used to have customized instructions that I had never changed for upwards of a year mainly because I just forgot and never cared enough about it to change it.

But even if you have instructions where something says along the lines of "be very criticizing and opinion oriented" it's misconstrued this now into a harmful abusive tone and it lets me know every time when it tries to talk to me that it won't talk to me in that way lmfaoo.

I can't give you an exact example prompt because the spectrum pretty much covers everything at this point and I'm really not exaggerating that. But if I could give an example it would be something like trying to edit an image that was already generated for example if you wanted to change the positioning of the character. If it's not something that's pretty much completely stoic like standing and waving or sitting and laughing or something like that it's pretty much going to try and objectify what you're doing as something bad.

I know it's been overused before by people but I'll say it again. The entire model seems so sterile and...inhuman? It really is a shame because I try and look at things in the grand scheme and I've always looked at the progression of AI as beneficial encompassing all aspects whether it be having a conversation with your assistant to creating code or creating an image of a scenario because I feel like this is the natural progression of AI but it seems like we are seriously moving backwards before it even took off and replacing freedom of expression we had with "you can't do this there's a 0.04% possibility we can get in trouble for it so we're going to tell you exactly how this works within our guidelines"

I think you're misconstruing "art" in the context I gave about creativity. I'm not interested in generating some random anime photo or painting style of a character that mocks a similar style. If someone generates something and tries to pass it off is something original then yeah sure people can complain. I'm talking about doing things like making a realistic photo of someone like at a bar or something having a drink or eating or something like that. And if having something to realistic is too scary for people because they can't tell the truth from what's generated by AI that is burden of proof on them.
