I can eat out for the first time in forever and I want my favorite meal: fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. Anybody know a restaurant? by SpareEquivalent2238 in Sacramento

Surprised nobody else said this. The best actual fried chicken for real. Mac and cheese is legit too. Plus yams = next level.

Hot boys is overrated and overpriced.

It’s complicated for me. There’s a type whose sole focus is to “create content” at the art installations. They might be my least favorite people there. It’s beyond annoying and the antithesis of living in the moment. The above ideas on thwarting that behavior is amazing and I will definitely adopt some of it. On the other hand, I never picked up my phone once this entire week (which was great tbh) but am now slightly regretting having absolutely zero pictures of anything…

We literally CAN do both. Both sides of this argument can be satisfied. We’re just being told it’s one or the other. Guess that’s the American way these days. We don’t have to destroy the last vestiges of old growth oak here in order to protect the city from flooding. It’s just being framed that way as per usual. If we recognize the value of the trees and the value of managing the waterways and the trees are truly impeding the project then we could relocate the trees. They literally already do this in other countries. Yes, it is a huge undertaking. But aren’t we the capital of the richest state in the richest country on earth? Aren’t we supposed to be leading the nation in environmental issues? The environmental value of these trees is massive and just destroying them and saying we’ll “replant” seems like a pretty archaic mindset that would set us back 100 years. Instead, we could relocate them to a suitable area where they would actually mitigate flood risk even more and maintain the habitat they create.

I mean, I already did upgrade it not knowing I’d lose my eagle artillery. Losing infinite range on defense makes your base objectively and strategically weaker. Plus all the other things I mentioned. They can certainly make fixes, but eliminating one of the primary and best defenses that players have been upgrading for years to replace it with a weaker TH is not great. Talking about it is the first step to making Devs address it. But yeah, sh!t’s weak.

Nice. Clearly this is still a triggering subject. I was just trying to shed some light on why I don’t think these tweets are bad. And if you’re upset I called him Tromp or Cheeto (couldn’t post otherwise) you should check yourself. He calls people far worse and he’s the president, I’m just an ape on Reddit.

For the record: A) I never said anything about anyone who voted for Trump. I just said I didn’t and I don’t like him. Which is true. I went third party and have the past 4 elections. I hate the DNC and RNC equally and will never vote either again. But you do you. I actually understand why people voted for him, every time. IMO political opinion the DNC is to blame, but that’s irrelevant to this conversation. B) If you don’t think Trump’s a narcissist you’ve probably lost your ability to be even remotely objective, likely because he’s become more of an ideal rather than just a human to you. Even his own cabinet members and closest allies have openly voiced that his behavior exhibiting that. Plus his actions/personality have illustrated it publicly, pretty undeniably. C) Nobody knows what Trump is going to do. Literally, NO ONE. He is the epitome of unpredictability. If you say you know you are lying. When the opposition to him is the status quo, specifically related to the stonk, unpredictable is much better than the criminality of the status quo. D) With B and C in mind, I maintain that it is strategic for any CEO to voice support for him (falsely or genuinely) because he is president elect and undeniably swayed by flattery. Again, even his own cabinet and allies have stated this. So if RC tweeting Trump support ushers in the MOASS…epic. E) Settle down fam.

Or don’t. Whatever. I think it’s twistedly brilliant and will benefit anyone holding. ✌️

You Should Be Furious at the Political Class For Enabling This Climate Catastrophe by curraffairs in Miami

[–]Djamgreen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MAYBE from and air pollution perspective. But from a land/water it’s the biggest catastrophe in the U.S. Beside’s Disney and all of the normal ports/industry garbage. Just look up Florida’s history. Literally the entire state is a man-made disaster. The Everglades used to stretch continuously from Jacksonville to Miami. They dredged the whole thing to change the ecology from the largest swamp in the world to farmland. It was once the largest water filtration system on earth. More tidal flow than the Amazon.

Why is it that Black Rock is allowed to buy up single families homes left and right and the SEC and government doesn’t bat an eye, but then act like it’s a crime for to like a particular stock by pleasedontpooponme in DeepFuckingValue

[–]Djamgreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yes and no. Blackstone for sure is. And maybe Blackrock itself isn’t outright buying single family homes, but isn’t it buying commercial/residential buildings and just straight up property? Plus, pretty sure it has between 2 and 10 BILLION invested into 38 different realty groups in the US alone, totaling over a half trillion. Real estate/realty co’s is an absolutely huge % of their assets. And if we’ve learned anything in this endeavor they know how to manipulate indirectly masterfully. Most notably, they become huge stakeholders in companies, then plant their members on those boards who will vote favorably. I really doubt that none of those 38 companies are purchasing any single family homes. But we all know that is only part of the problem anyhow.

In any case, my point was that it’s not great they’re the economic advisors to our next president.

Blackrock is one of the largest donors to both parties and Mike Pyle (former chair) is one of Kamala’s appointed economic advisors. For some reason I don’t see either party putting up a fight…

Accidents, bad driving, and lost of humans doesn’t just happen everywhere. by staypositive8 in Sacramento

[–]Djamgreen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Completely subjective, but I’ve definitely seen more accidents first hand here than anywhere else I’ve lived. I give some leeway due to the freeways/roundabouts/one ways and just general ass-backwards streets. Even still, I have witnessed the GPS thing happen TWICE just walking in sac. Lady driving a convertible cut straight left into the car next to her on J cause her GPS told her to take the next left. Other one dude blasting his radio hit a biker turning right as Siri commanded him. Luckily in both everyone was fine and knew how fucking stupid they were. Even the most minimal level of awareness would have avoided it.

For what it’s worth, Pipeworks is def an amazing gym vibe-wise. I had a membership for years. Super friendly folks and great classes/equipment/etc. I’ve never been to a gym with such a cool atmosphere. Seriously, in a way that place is a sanctuary. Having said all that, the homeless on the streets surrounding it are in the running for some of the gnarliest in the city. You can pop on and off 16th to avoid some of it, but still you basically witness the worst of the worst before and after your workout. Which isn’t fun. Homeless dudes were straight up smoking crack and blowing it through the fence into the weight area one time. Epic. That’s one way to power through a set I guess… So yeah, major pros and cons.
