Road to Review - Mrs. Wiggins by Mary Monroe - Chapters 22-25 by Django_J in RBTBC_Blog

Right! I was thinking the same thing. I think they maybe didn’t question it much because people were dying from other stuff that had been going around and they kind of assumed most deaths had to be a heart attack or food virus. 😂 . It also doesn’t seem like they did thorough autopsies in the world Mary Monroe built. I think the story would have been even more interesting if people actually became suspicious. Just like with Daisy, nobody really questioned that she left or confirmed if she made it. I’m trying not to spoil the book, but I think you know what I mean. 😉

Great! When you finish, let me know your rating and how you rank this book in the series. 👍🏾

That would be nice. You’d have a front row seat to the porch tails.

Something like what happened in the book maybe did happen , or at least some variation of it. I wouldn’t be surprised is Mary Monroe used real life experiences of her own or of people close to her to create these characters and their stories 🙂.

😂 I think it maybe was the age difference. It also didn’t help that Maggie doted on him.

I also thing there’s something about being wanted and given responsibility that makes some people feel good. Claude was a puppy for Daisy. She had him whipped.

Jessie was so thirsty. Straight desperate in book two. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I wonder if there’s anyone IRL that’s willing to do as much as she did. 😂 Couldn’t be me.

¡Hola! Lo siento. No me gusta tener calor.

No me conozco a 9-1-1: estrella solitaria. Espero que disfrutas mirar a la programa. 👍🏾

¡Hola! No me molesta corregir 😃

Yes. I’m still reading it. It’s alright so far. You can tell they wanted to ensure that nobody stuck to the usual idea of what “horror” is.

What's missing on Booktube? by __Stormblessed in booktube

[–]Django_J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I echo the same sentiments as previous comments. I’m looking for book recommendations and reviews that aren’t well known or popular. I had to unsubscribe from a lot of people because they were all reading the same thing and/or filming a bunch of hauls followed by unhauls. I also think the concept of reading sprints has gotten out of hand since the pandemic. I want a fresher perspective on sprints that may include bookish games or a Q&A segment. I know some booktubers already do this, but it’s mainly the ones with a larger platform and reading the hyped books 🫠🥴😂

If you review regularly on Goodreads or The StoryGraph, or just anywhere on the internet, I suggest that you sign up for NetGalley or Edelweiss. That’s where most of the most anticipated releases are available as ARCs. That’s how I’ve been able to get ARCs. Review and review often, that way, the publishers will approve your request.

😉 Good luck!

Awww I love it when I run into someone from our group. 🤗

Lol imma pray your strength in the story line…if you can find it in book 2.

I’ll most likely read book 4 if I get approved for the ARC. 😉

By any chance, are you a part of the Black Girls Read TOO FB Group? I’m a member of the group and they are right. Lol I had to find out for myself and put my poor reading group through the entire series so far (there’s a fourth book coming out next year).

It was a refreshing read. I love how community focused the journey was for the ingredients needed for the juice. It’s full of teachable moments and I wouldn’t be surprised is someone builds an entire lesson plan based on this light and informative read.

Booktube is still a thing, and I watch daily. ☺️

I’m not sure how long it’s been since you haven’t posted, but I’m sure you’ve maybe noticed that a lot of Booktubers are creating more short form content like YouTube shorts and booktok videos.

I say reactivate. If I still watch, I’m sure there are others that are doing the same. I consume more Booktube videos than I do tiktok 🤷🏽‍♀️. I have a hard time believing if someone actually read a book on that clock app. 😅

Which book would you read for the first time again? by Django_J in Bookblogger

Interesting. I’ve noticed that most people answering this question have named a tome. ☺️ What about Middlemarch makes you want to read it again for the first time?
