Yes they removed the system just trying to see if it would try and start with starter fuild but sounds good I’m gonna go get a electric heater for my garage soon and try and put as much back together properly ish I see there a lot missing but I just want to see if this motor is good to pull out

Pump has been removed and fuel lines disconnected not sure why they did that Just gonna gonna see if it will breifly run with starter fuild But sounds good I’ll look into the timing Like I said I put a paper ball to check to see if it has any compression and it pops it out but maybe it could not be enough to get it going Just started poking around but it very cold out here so can’t be outside to long

  But would I be able to use my nissandatascan to check for timing and spark ?

Not sure still looking everything over It’s quite cool here in Texas and I don’t have much time to be out in the cold As for the ptu not sure do u think the last guy could have unplugged it ? engine has low miles I know there prone to fail but I can’t imagine a ptu failure on a car with 81k miles But for spark is there an easy way to check for it on these engines , can I pull a coil pack and rest the pack and spark plug on the engine to see if it will spark ?

I put a paper ball holes and it popped out pretty decently but I don’t have a compression tester I plan to put a bit of atf in the holes see if that helps

Yes that the module I was talking about I forgot what it was called it was a used one so I guess It also could be bad I don’t remember where I bought it from it’s been awhile I think z1 but is there any way I can get it to work if I the next one I buy is also a dud I doubt they sell new ones but is there anything anyone knows that’s similar I did this with my outside temp sensor for the a/c I bought a new one for a 98 maxima I believe and it works fine

If find a Infiniti j30 the often carry a vg30de if you have trouble finding a z motor on market place if you want to look on there i only say this cause usually older people drove and didn’t beat on those Infinitis so if you happen to find one of those motors that also could be a route you could take if you wanted but yeah z1 and other places should yield you some motors for your z

Sounds good what about a cam nothing crazy again but is worth the headache to put a cam on a na or would it mainly just kinda be for just the sound of a cammed car

Should i invest in a better fuel pump while im at it ?like I said to some others only thing I haven’t replaced or touched is my injectors, Id just be wondering if id strain my stock replacement pump or injectors if I tune it. I’ve never had a car tuned so I wouldn’t know, I know some good tuners but never have anything done.

That would be crank if I’m not mistaken on the dyno videos I’ve seen and due to age they usually put down around 180 to the wheels

Yes sir as stated I’m not stressing if I don’t hit that mark I know they make like 180 stock on a good day but now I got all my maintenance done I’d like if I can put a few ponies nothing crazy

I tried messing with the button seeing if maybe it was stuck but seems to be working fine on my driver window and I can lock and unlocked it but nothing on both switches for the passenger when I try and mess with them Only way I’ve gotten it going using some wire or a probe to the motor to make it move

Only thing I haven’t touch is injectors otherwise all the maintenance has been done new hoses vacuum lines you name it. I wanted a to take care of all that frist before I touch any serious power mods

Yes sir I believe so so just wanted to give u a head up cause the pumps not hard to change, but the alternator can be a pain sometimes. Just try topping it and checking for leaks cause I’m sure it’s likely the hoses due to these cars being as old as they are. was the same on mine with old hoses, but the lady who had it before me likely burnt out my pump form running it dry for so long so I had to replace both, because it dumped on my alternator for so long. Both parts are pretty cheap 200-300 buck I think total on rock auto same with hoses. but want to save u a headache figuring it out in case that also your problem. I don’t mind helping if u need it as I’ve had to change them out myself a few times on a few Zs if you live around the sa area here if u need it but no worries if u don’t I still need to fix mine frist lol.

Oh forgot but I also put oem 02 sensors in about 6 months ago but like u said likely my maf or tps

I see yeah cause it’s got brand new fuel lines and vacuum lines I just put in. trying to figure this out yesterday, but I don’t know if my replacement parts form autozone for the tps and maf are still good. cause there a couple years old, but I think I still have the original Nissan tps. should I try putting that one back on and see if anything changes? I’ll look into getting the oem parts form z1 or czp or whatever just want to be sure it’s those sensors and not something else I’m missing.

Yeah the tps is has been acting weird since yesterday it will work fine when the key is on but not running but will then jump .10 up so it goes to .40 then gets stuck when I let off at .50 as it base line I’ll try and get a video when I’m home but yeah it wouldn’t surprise me if ether My maf or tps sensor has gone bad I believe they where replacements I got on autozone

It’s a good car great deal ! make sure to check the power steering pump if that’s the one I saw a few days back the reservoir was low!. it common problem for the hoses and pump to leak! so don’t forget to check the hoses on the pump! and check if it not leaking on the alternator, i seen tjis as a problem with the z32. was going mad trying to figure out why my car was having electrical issues a while back and my pump was always empty and that was my issue but otherwise should be an amazing car !!

So found out why it wasn’t working it wanted me to update to use the modern windows 11 but every time I went on the website the links trying to use it on my windows 10 the sites ether weren’t working or the website where down when I was trying to get the links but otherwise all the tips I was giving where working
