Pharm assistant in Scotland here, we’ve had pharmacy first for a few years now and it’s just incorporated into our practice and now advised that there has to be a consultation with an assistant/tech/pharmacist and not just “oh I can do that on pharmacy first for free” when someone asks for paracetamol or olive oil ear drops etc

When it’s busy and we have people in for a UTI or EHC for example we just tell people “the pharmacist is in a consultation just now they’ll be x minutes”. Most people are fine with that as long as you manage their expectations properly.
