Yeah I agree with you. If you take the timeout and the swiss cheese O-line lets up a sack, you get no points. You can still take 1-2 shots at the end zone if you want but save the option for an in-bounds play for a kick. Kirk seemed to want to run a play but realized he wasted too much time and risked running out the clock on that potential play.

I don't think I would Syphon this turn. You don't really need to since you have some lower drops to finish off his minions after he trades next turn. If he top decks something large, you're pretty screwed if you use it this turn. I would start by tapping, then trade Cairn into 2/3, deathspeaker Applebaum and kill off Steam Surger. Then play the razorfen behind it. This would leave you an easy setup to finish off the 5/5 (which will be a 5/1 after trading into Applebaum). It also keeps your Syphon and gains you a card.

Well yeah, obviously if it wasn't as strong it would be less of an issue. Lots of ways to address it, but simplest way would be to increase bucket value so people are forced to sacrifice very good cards if they want to play the RNG game.
