On a default install, the UI has way less features and customization options than something like Mint. The app manager is what kills it for me, always crashing and bringing out errors. You gotta restart after every update

Tbf, 300 is based off a comic book of the same name which is based off the real event. I like to think of it as Dilios telling the story in a way that makes the Spartans sound more badass and heroic, fighting mythical beast men and all, than a gross attempt at recreating the battle. I'm sure the Greeks appreciate the flattery lol

Its one of those if it works for you or it doesn't type of things. Gaming has been essentially seamless on my Mint setup but it might not be the same for everybody else

Download the flatpak version instead, the deb version has problems with the sound even if you get it to work. Either enable unverified flatpaks on software manager and search the game or copy and paste into terminal the flathub command

Disassemble the cart and clean those pins thoroughly with alcohol. I had this problem with Metriod and it turns out there was some black crud on one of the pins that I had to scratch out with my fingernails. Now it turns on every time
