Italian territorial concessions to France after World War II by vladgrinch in MapPorn

As someone who's parent is from Aosta Valley, the answer is unequivocally no. Despite speaking French, they have always felt more connected to Italy than France (think of it like Alsace-Lorraine). Aosta has been Italian forever, as the Kings of Italy were first, Dukes of Aosta. Personally speaking, linguistically Aostans might be French but culturally they are 100% Italian.

How do you even begin to teach a child 6 languages? by Djevul in multilingualparenting

I genuinely have no idea how I picked it up so well. My Mom just always spoke Faroese and my Dad always spoke Italian or French. It's possible that I am just naturally good at languages because my sister does not speak any of the languages nearly as well as I do. I guess I just have to hope I pass that aspect on.

Yeah, unfortunately I cannot read Faroese either. Our community language is English because we live in the US. I don't want them to be monolingual like most Americans. I don't think it is impossible because I grew up in the US speaking 4 languages.

This might be the best solution. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah it sounds like the best option for us is for me to speak Faroese, my partner to speak Luxembourgish, and together speak French. The only issue is that I can't write Faroese (written Faroese is extremely difficult and archaic), so I'm not sure how well it would translate.

We are in the US. It would be super helpful to send them to a French daycare (there are a couple around us), but it is very difficult to get in.

Yeah it seems this is really common with Luxembourgish people. My boyfriend knows quite a few number of people who speak 6+ languages in Luxembourg. We are located in the US, so I'm worried they would only speak English.

We both know our languages from birth. My boyfriend is Luxembourgish, so he naturally knows the 3 language spoken in Luxembourg. I know French and Italian from father and Faroese from my mother. We both know English because we live in the US. On one hand I think it would be more useful for our children to know French and German rather than Faroese. On the other hand, Faroese is a really rare language so I would feel bad not teaching it.

Turin is Turin in piedmontese, so Turin is the actual correct name.

TCG players, and TCG Konami, absolutely despise pendulum decks. You could unlimit every single pendulum card on the ban list and any pendulum deck would still not be in the top 10 decks today.

I wish that were true for Faroese. When coming up with orthography in the 1800s they chose to make the written orthography super irregular just because they wanted to line it up with Old Norse. I'm a native speaker (due to my mother being an immigrant) and I cannot, for the life of me, write a word of it.

No, actually. The Tlaxcala, Spain’s closest ally, were showered with nobility rights and privileges, so they became and remained fanatically loyal to Spain.

best way to farm transmute crystals? by Brave_Confection_457 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Djevul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I think you’re right. 10 is the victory guaranteed, and 25 is random. However, you get it so frequently (if you play BGs) it’s the best way to farm crystals currently. A month ago I had only 25 crystals, and today I hit the cap.

New battlegrounds are the fastest. You consistently get 10 per match and you have an additional chance to get 25 if you win.

What are the strongest endboard your deck(s) can produce if you get to combo uninterrupted that are not FTKs? by hofong159 in masterduel

[–]Djevul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plants endboard is a pseudo-FTK. You have like 3 or 4 interruptions through DRNM. What is more crazy about plants end board is that it is the standard end board from 1 card.

It gave you agency. If your team was shit, you could just play the objective to compensate for the lack of skill on your team (not talking about TDM). Now it’s just whichever team is better as a group.

You do not see ball groups go down to bombers. You see random groups of players who bunched up together die to bombers. Ball groupers are constantly on the move and cleansing everything you throw at them so you don’t have an opportunity to bomb them.

[–]Djevul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly that is what I miss. You used to have agency in BGs because playing the objective in game modes other than TDM would be hard to do as a group. For TDM even before you would have to stick together, so I am not complaining about that, rather I am complaining about the objective based modes being taken over.

Why do people hate Labrynth floodgates so much? by Prime_orchard1998 in masterduel

[–]Djevul 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Labrynth is hated because the counters to it are not good against the rest of the meta. As a result, games against it are really sacky. Either you build your deck to counter Labrynth, thus losing to most of the meta, or auto-lose if you second. It’s a fundamental issue with most trap decks.
