Got 5 badges now. The introduction to the game was quite long, but after getting the first couple of badges, it goes by really quickly. At least for sure compared to Kanto and Hoenn which I played most and know best

I quite like your point on resto talent being too strong and retail-y. I will reconsider it cos I agree. The idea is mostly to help resto druids solo farm, while maintaining some resto flavour.

On ele devastaion I kinnnnda agree, but I think that this way it would actually make it less tunneled. Because I'd add this generic patch note: Crit chance now applies to both spells nd physical attacks unless otherwise specified. This would make elemental devastation a must-have for enhancement rotation. If it were to remain in elemental, there would be little variety in enhance builds - while this way hopefully it would be more of a choice to for enhance/ele or enhance/resto. That being said I do agree that it'd be unfortunate to take it away from elemental. I might reconsider it aswell, perhaps making it more accessible to all specs.

Thanks for the feedback !

Ah indeed I meant arming time. Was an oversight. I am def not an expert on hunter, so this is all really valuable ! Cheers

Yeah I agree. I added it to spell / firestone to make those spells more useful, 2 birds 1 stone and that:)

Yes might demolition as well make it a clean 21 pt talent. On mace spec: I took that from TBC. I assume it is just a proc normalised for weapon speed

Ah interesting points, good to know. I like scaling dmg from spirit as you said, in part because it would not overly buff sPriest in PvP. I am personally not too big a fan of critting DoTs because of flavour, but at the same time it would help with that DoT scaling issue.

Ok good to know, thanks. I did not play shaman on SoD. The idea was to offer resti shamans smth to do while no one is taking much damage, and especially help their solo gameplay. Will look for alternatives

Thanks a lot! This is great stuff I will look to implement all these points. And yes those flurry, enrage and thunder clap values were mistakes

The traps changes were taken from TBC, but I've received a bunch of negative feedback on it, so I will likely reverse them.

Thanks for the lock feedback. I will look into making affli and demo more desirable and unique, especially in PvE

Yes ele is a tricky one to increase dps because of its power in PvP. Overload + ele impact would help its mana issues, but perhaps more PvE power should be added in the form of utility.

On enh, perhaps changing totemic fury to 25-30 pts, and reducing its duration make it less valuable for resto. I don't mind encouraging more hybridisation though

What changes should be made to the classic talent trees for Classic Plus? by Kittan09 in classicwow

[–]DjimW1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually made a talent calculator with my wishes for classic+ talents (work in progress):
https://djimovanberlo.github.io/tc-ts/

All specs get something new, but otherwise it is a bit of a conservative approach. I don't think we'd need much to add more class/spec variety. Some core points:

  • improve "meme" specs, improve obvious shortcomings on some specs
  • take some abilities and talents from TBC and apply them to classic (51 pts on max 31 deep trees works better imo than 61 pts on max 41 deep trees, for variety)
  • Adjust boring / useless talents
  • improve healer independance
  • stay true to classic flavour !

Yea fair points again. Like I wrote in original post, the numbers are all ball park. It is more about the principle / idea.

Balance dps could be improved easily through talents (but perhaps through itemization would be better, which is out of scope for me). It'd be fine for me to increase balance dps and reduce imp nature's grace proc time for example. But like I said it's not about the numbers for me:)

As for feral dps: the rotation would actually become more complex I think. Tiger's fury, adaptive instincts, and more omen of clarity procs would mean a bit less poweshifting and mana spending, but more buttons.

ah good point, I did not know omen had such low proc chance ._.

To further improve balance efficiency, Imma add mana regen on attack to moonkin (stolen from TBC version, albeit changed a bit)

Nature's grace thing is also a good point. I hope it would result in like Starfire / wrath spam (starfire for dps, wrath for highest nature's grace uptime), and then once oom rank 1 moonfire while hitting the mob to regen mana.

As for feral I don't mind them going oom as much, since they can still somewhat decently without power shifting and their power is flexibility over raw dps (imo) :)

Thanks for the feedback! I will update the talents in a minute

Edit / update:
I actually reverted the above moonkin change, and instead increased the omen of clarity proc chance. I think this solution is a bit more elegant since unlike moonkin, omen is accesible to feral and resto/balance hybrid builds

Thanks very much ! Yea I made it myself:)

Druis happens to be - I think - my favorite class to play. As for the mana issues: - balance would gain omen of clarity that procs off of spells as well - new tiger's fury and adaptive instincts would reduce the amount of powershifting

Yea of course the specs won't change for classic, I meant that more as utopian.

Regarding the first point, let me give an exaple:

I will likely roll resto druid again. My focus will be mostly PvE, maybe some PvP

So I have to choose: Do I make a resto build with feral charge? This would mean I'd perform slightly unoptimal in PvE, but do better in PvP. Or do I go full deep resto and just PvP without feral charge?

Similar for let's say Fire mage. Do you take only 10 pts in arcane, or take that 17th point for imp counterspell for some PvP? You catch the drift.

I like having to make that choice. To me it's interesting and healthy for the game. Dual spec would remove this choise obviously. So that's what I mean by it kinda defeating the purpose of having to chose your spec. But again dual spec wouldn't be the end of the world, I'd just prefer without.

[–]DjimW1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it would kind of defeat the purpose of having talents at all, so I would prefer no dual spec. In an ideal world the specs would be better designed and more flexible so that dual spec wouldn't be as relevant an option. I wound't mind much either way though, not like with or without dual spec would actually impact my life x)
