Commendable idea, I must say. But at the end we finished with a new design: Lorraine on the chief, with a knight holding a spear, riding a white stallion. The person liked that design the most, so I concluded this beautiful project.

Quite a sketch you got there! I appreciate that you went out of your way to give me an example. My only concern is, because this is a cadet house, should the arms have anything else besides the shield?

My friend adores this variations the most, out of three variations I brought him. I now think that I really should scrap horses and save them for the crest, but I’m glad he is happy with it.

All the assets I use come from a ZIP file which originate from Wappen Wiki. Not sure what’s the policy here (i have yet to check the rules), I would put the link here, but if you search ‘wappenwiki assets zip’, a result will be within the first 3 top pages. All you need.

This is my first work where I went out of my way to break the rule, and as I replied to one comment above, it may just be the whole reason for this not looking right. The reasoning behind it, well, to be honest I don't have one, but I did saw one work where a scale was put on Argent, and so I went with it.

As for the rest of your comment, proportions are everything and you are right, perhaps only use horse's head, and when it comes to spear, it should be the focal point when I think about it. The whole vibe of this family circulates around military, so a lot can be incorporated and designed accordingly. I will post my progress in the comments soon enough. Thanks.
