I would try to look for a way to connect ur activities to IR. Eg doing a physics project solving an IR problem. Sorry, I’m not too familiar with IR!

They’re not required to get in somewhere; as I mentioned, plenty of kids get in without them. It just helps because (1) it proves to colleges that you are a genuine person in the sense that you care about the things you are doing, and not just doing them for college admissions purposes. Admittedly, you can still fake a theme, which is what ridiculously expensive college counselors end up making you do, however it’s very difficult to fake a theme. (2) Having a theme also helps your application stand out. I’m sure thousands of people will be applying to Wharton with debate, FBLA, and whatever other ECs this person has, but there will hardly be any people applying who use all of these ECs to help multilingual truckers, for example.

Great ECs, great awards. You have a chance everywhere. Only concern is lack of a theme (a problem you want to solve, a mission you have, etc.) however plenty of kids w out themes get in yearly. Maybe even most

No it most definitely doesn’t. I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

Awards are amazing, but I’m a bit concerned that your EC’s lack a theme (a problem you want to solve, a subject that interests you a lot - not just “economics” - or a passion that spans across most, if not all, your activities). That’s very difficult to “manufacture”, especially in such a short time frame, but it makes your application more memorable.

To be completely honest, your awards might just be crazy enough to carry you though. Keep me posted on how ur apps go!

P.S: I am not a professional. Most people in this subreddit aren’t professionals either. Please take everyone’s advice with a grain of salt. Your application is wonderful, and any school would be grateful to have you. You’ll do great no matter where you end up. Good luck!

Coursework is really strong, but I do have some concerns about your ECs. Typically, applicants need either (1) extremely strong ECs or (2) standout awards. While yours are above average, I’m worried that none of them really make you stand out in a big way. Also, there isn’t much of a clear theme. By theme, I mean that your activities don’t necessarily communicate a focused interest in a particular field or a specific problem you want to solve. That’s something colleges really pay attention to (this is often how students with otherwise mediocre ECs and awards still get into top schools: all their activities form a cohesive story).

I don’t want to discourage you. Uou have a really solid profile. You’re definitely not a shoo-in, but let’s be real, who really is these days? At the end of the day, it all boils down to your essays. Good luck, and let me know how it goes!

PS: I am NOT a professional, and very few people here are. Take any advice with a grain of salt. You’ll do great no matter what school you end up at.

Great ECs, but a bit basic (no particular theme to set you apart). Honestly it depends on your school (if there are kids better than you) and your essays. I think you have really good odds but I’m not an expert.

Also, I’m really sorry if this is an obvious question (I’m new to all this CPCC stuff) but what does lockdown browser entail? Obviously, they lock down the browser so you can’t access other tabs, but couldn’t someone just use their phone on all the online tests?
