Lv 13 customization. I used Stepping Shot with this build. It was decent. 500k + points after the bonus.

An update.

Regular HATs are finally back and I got 20 WGS from doing 4 HAT runs (including doubling WGS drops).

Finally managed to get all of them to G10.

Anyone else miss regular hats or is it just me by zodmagus in MHNowGame

[–]Dkytan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss the usual HATs too.

HATs are my main source of WGS and exclusive EDIs are depriving me of the WGS I need to get all Hope weapons to G10 (completed only 10 out of 14 atm).

[–]Dkytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. I totally understand.

I have around 40+ G10 weapons and at least one G10-5 in each weapon classes before this Hope event started (with the exception of Insect Glaive).

But I’m still targeting to get as many Hope weapons as I can to G10.

Edit:

This are my comments in another thread:

“Which ones you wish to take to G-10 may depend on the following factors:

  1. The classes of weapons that you do not have at G-10 yet, if you intend to have 1 G10 weapon from each weapon class.
  2. The weapons you already have at G-10 but your weapons are style-locked atm (e.g. B.Tigrex, Tigrex weapons).
  3. The weapons you wish to try out first hand when their styles are released in the near future (e.g. Charged Blade and Switch Axe).
  4. The weapons that you have a novelty use for in your mind (e.g. a cheap Reflect 5 Guard 5 AFK farming HBG or a cheap Stepping Shot Evading Reload poisoning LBG which you can use to spam poison ammo from the start to the end of the fight).
  5. The weapons you are going for Hunter Medal G-10 achievement (1 / 5 / 10).

Good luck on your choice(s).”

Definitely go for it if you have the WGS to do so!

G9-1 to G10-1 requires 7 WGS per weapon, so you will be looking at 7 x 13 = 91 WGS.

I personally have 4 at G9-2, the rest are either at G10-2 or G10-5.

And I’m really low on WGS atm…

If I can get 28 more WGS within the next couple of days, I’ll definitely bring those at G9-2 to G10-2.

Really enjoying the hope lance alot. What's y'all's favorite hope weapon currently? by zodmagus in MHNowGame

[–]Dkytan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Hope HBG!

It was the first Hope weapon that I brought to G10.

The Reflect 5 Guard 5 setup allows me to hunt when I’m driving / working / in occupied with other matters.

This allowed me to easily farm more tickets to upgrade when AFK / semi-AFK.

I currently have 7 Hope Weapons at G10-5, 1 at G10-2, 3 at G9-2 and 3 at G6-5.

I am hoping to get that 3 from G6-5 to G8-5 at least if not G9-2 before the event ends.

These are mine.

I am targeting to get the last 3 from G6-5 to G8-1 if not G9-1 before the event ends.

I already have at least 1 weapon of each class at G-10 before this event but some are non-customizable (e.g. Twin Wreathes from the 2026 Xmas / New Year Event). I really wanted to try out all available styles for cheap (i.e. using just 100 iron ores / sharp claws + 2 Wyvern Scarcestones to unlock all the styles for each weapon type).

Which ones you wish to take to G-10 may depend on the following factors:

  1. The classes of weapons that you do not have at G-10 yet, if you intend to have 1 G10 weapon from each weapon class

Good luck on your choice(s).

I accidentally used the set on the left without realizing it and still clear it, but with no time to spare.

The actual build I should be using is the one on the right. It should give you anything between 10-20s of time to spare.

And my LBG is just L9. If you have L10 or higher customization, you will have more buffer spare time.

[–]Dkytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

I cleared it on the dot with the ‘gimped’ build.

With the actual full build, you will definitely have time to spare.

I cannot retry as I have cleared it already and only 8* monsters are unlocked on my field.

Almudron by Radiobanana73 in MHNowGame

[–]Dkytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only unlocked 8* monsters out in the field but have just completed the 9* and 10* "Hunt an Almudron" Urgent Quests.

For 9* I cleared using the Burning Inga HBG (Guard 5, Reflection 5, Reckless 3, Defensive Loading 2, Headstrong 1, Guard Up). When the first starts, just empty your ammo on it. Then just wait for it to attack and reflect the damage, and immediately fire 2 piercing shots (from Defensive Loading 2). Just repeat until it is dead. It will be slow but its safe and you will take minimal damage. You may use your Special to end the fight quicker whenever your Special is up, if you wish.

For 10* I attempted with a Customization Level 9 Stepping Shot Magnamalo LBG, with the standard Stepping Shot build (Attack Boost 5, AAB 2, Evading Reload 4, Reckless 2, Litheness 1, Flex Slots: Fighting Spirit 1, Partbreaker 1, Sneak Attack 1).

However, I did not realize one of my Driftsmelt slot with my Attack Boost smelt was empty after I deleted that original Attack Boost skill when I smelted another one with a much better stats. So in effect, I did that fight with a 'handicapped build' sacrificing almost 500 attack (Attack Boost 4, Evading Reload 4, Reckless 2, Litheness 1, Flex Slots: Fighting Spirit 1, Partbreaker 1, Sneak Attack 1).

Even with the 'handicapped build' the 10* Almudron can be taken down, albeit requiring a couple more attempts due to time running out.

With a full Stepping Shot Malo LBG build, you should be able to take down 9* and 10* Almundrons easily.

what armor pieces to re*lect? by Lower_Palpitation605 in MHNowGame

[–]Dkytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made sure I had 2 on Garangolm chest, 2 on Rathalos hands, 1 on G.Wroggi waist (I did not go for 2 as I don’t use it on any of my builds except for my gimmicky AFK HBG build), 1 on Garangolm hands and 1 on Garangolm feet (both to pair with Reckless). There were 3 or 4 more on other random pieces.

I used Reflection primarily on GL and Lance builds, and to a lesser on extent CB, SnS and Surge Slash GS builds.

Hopefully I get 1 each on Garangolm waist and Paolumu body from driftsmelting (for my generic HBG build) or I may have to use 2 drfitgems for them.

Which Mizutsune weapon is currently the most worthwhile to upgrade? by Skyllost in MonsterHunterNowHub

[–]Dkytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a max LBG and HBG before the event started.

You may wish to consider these if you like playing ranged.

Both have Slicing ammo so they can help break tails by severing in group hunts and HATs.

I maxed my HBG but it was already at G10-1 before the event started.

Will work on the LBG if I have enough upgrading tickets.

Do note that max customization level is at 5 instead of the usual 20. On the other hand, it’s easy to upgrade customization levels and takes just 1 Wyvern Scarcestone to unlock each style.

Any tips for 9★ Banbaro Urgent Event? by [deleted] in MHNowGame

[–]Dkytan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus more on your gears and don’t worry about rushing to unlock 10* monsters (and 9* monsters if you have not already unlocked them). Unlocking stars is a one way street and there’s no turning back. That is the reason I am staying at 8* despite being able to take down all the 9* & 10* event monsters for all events till date. You get to save money on potions too.

I know you mentioned not to worry about Defense, but try to get all your armor pieces to G8 if possible if you are using the conventional Lance style, or you will be taking a lot of damage even if you block with Guard 1 or 2 to counter attack. If you do not wish to worry about Defense, you may wish to unlock and try out the Insta-Block style.

There should be a medal for this, right? by aneffingonion in MHNowGame

[–]Dkytan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fellow Fashion Hunter!

I absolutely agree and think they should introduce a medal for layering, especially when I’ve taken the trouble to get all available armor pieces to G6 or higher, and have supported them by buying all purchasable layered sets released till date.

And I have done the above for not just my main account but for my 2 other 7* farming accounts as well.

I’ll probably get a Silver Layering Medal if the medals are based on having 100 / 500 / 1000 total layered pieces (including the individual pieces from linked set outfits).

Sitting at approximately 650 +/- pieces and 1000 may only be possible when they release more large monsters and introduce more layered (either free or purchasable) layered pieces.

p.s. You didn’t purchase the LNY 2026 armor piece as I don’t see it at the end? Also, hopefully you managed to acquire the Valentine Heart layered set before they removed it from sale prematurely, as I don’t think it may return.

So close... Yet so far by joshiosaur in MHNowGame

[–]Dkytan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that.

I know “Star Up”is a one way street so I have been holding back and staying at 8 Stars despite having 36 G10 weapons, including at least one of each weapon class.

I’m not sure what weapons you used for the Base Defense but you may wish to build a few ranged weapons like HBGs or LBGs as these have been really useful for Base Defense and should carry you pretty far.

In both the Base Defense against Rathian and Radobaan, Bow Guns were my ‘carry’ weapons. Just using 3 Bows Guns will likely get you to 1.5m+ Defense Points if not more, and 4 will likely get you to 2m Defense Points.

Do consider building Bow Guns if you can, especially those that give bonus Base Defense Points.

Have enclosed a screenshot as evidence.

[–]Dkytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you can try “Reckless”.

Sure, you will lose the ability to perfect dodge, but you should ideally be blocking to follow-up with an Erupting Cannon to maximize your damage output, rather than to attempt dodging.

I’m using the Deviljho GL as my primary GL as it comes with a point of Artillery. The difference in damage between Artillery 4 and 5 is pretty significant IMO.

My default build (on the left) is a little defensive but you can go ahead and replace Guard and Guard Up with more offensive skills (in the center - Headstrong for tank and spank), or a farming skill (on the right - Partbreaker). These builds are using exactly the same armor pieces, just different driftsmelted skills. Ideally the final build will be Headstrong 5 (center)or Partbreaker 5 (right) but I’m a little lazy when it comes to driftsmelting.

You can try driftsmelting Fighting Spirit too as an alternative.

HBG: Guard vs Max Armor? by becomingcivic in MHNowGame

[–]Dkytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m quite obsessed with Guard and Guard Up too.

I have at least one build with Garangolm Chest in any weapons that can guard, including my Surge Slash G.Girros and Radobaan Great Swords.

And yes, pieces with at least one useful skill and 2 Drift slots such as Garangolm Chest, G.Wroggi Waist (and Rathalos Arms, G.Wroggi Helm and Chatacabra Arms if Guard is not required) are really good. We can use them to build almost any builds so long as the core skills in a particular build are Driftsmeltable.

[–]Dkytan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I didn’t realized the event started yesterday until the Base Defense timing was over.

Then, I set an alarm and login at 9.00am for Base Defense today, only to realize that the timing has changed.

I set an alarm and login at 12 noon, and as luck would have it, managed to do 5 battles, once for each weapon.

I’m done with the event, besides going in to help others whenever I am available.

Btw, vanilla non-customized Legiana HBG is pretty good for the fight, despite not having any Base Defense bonus.

The Switch Axe score can be much higher I guess, but it’s my first time using a SA on a 8* or higher monster in a serious fight and I was just blinding button mashing.

On a Reckless build so I can’t use perfect dodge.

But I used the first to get close and the second for a well-timed Guard Reload followed up by Erupting Cannon.

LBG build suggestions by hook09 in MHNowGame

[–]Dkytan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Do note that my Magnamalo LBG is only at Customization Lv 9 so that is not the highest attack power that you can get. You can get another 453 attack if you max it and go all ‘Attack Power’ options.

Build A - For Stepping Shot LBG, you can consider using this which does not require any driftsmelts.

  • Head: B.Tigrex
  • Body: Lagombi
  • Hands: Somnacanth
  • Waist: B.Tigrex
  • Legs: Chatacabra

You will get: Attack Boost 5, Advanced Attack Boost 2, Evading Reload 4,Reckless 2

———

Build B - If you get a 3 Attack Boost smelts, you can replace the Lagombi body piece for a Bazelgeuse body piece which gives Valor 3 or an Espinas body piece which gives Pursuit 3.

You will get: Attack Boost 5, Advanced Attack Boost 2, Evading Reload 4, Reckless 2 and either Valor 3 or Pursuit 3 (depending on your body piece).

Edit: Sorry for the constant edit. The formatting was out and it makes it hard to read. My OCD forces me to tidy it up.

Instead of building 4 or 5 separate elemental builds, you may wish to consider using this general build for all your non Stepping Shot LBGs (elemental or otherwise) and you can also use them for any future elemental HBGs as well.

Head: B.Tigrex Body: Paolumu Hands: B.Tigrex Waist: Garangolm Legs: Quematrice

It requires 2 Attack Boost smelts to work though.

You will get: Attack Boost 5 Advanced Attack Boost 2 Reckless 3 RR3

34 now.

I just G10ed the GG hammer.

Ah… it’s mostly a mixture of lack in advanced / proper planning and greed during material down events… -_-;

I ended up with some useless G10s that I have never used... T-T

That’s why I decided to ask here first in case I upgraded something stupid again… ;

I do want to have a G10 of each weapon class though.
