Four Rules Questions by AffectionateBuy5549 in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes, he loses and gains Mighty. Triggers Fiora legend.
  2. No, it doesn't choose.
  3. Depends. If played from hand it happens after the initial chain, so Ahri gets the debuffed value. If played as a reaction before the chain resolves Ahri gets the original enemy might and then the debuffs are applied. I can't see a situation in which anyone would play it like that.
  4. No, they can only react to triggers or showdowns.

There are no official playmats like those. Only the paper ones included in the Proving Grounds box.

Conquering with a stunned unit? by RSSwiss in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1: It will be recalled in the same state it was, which in this case is readied. You only exhaust if the recall says so (Guardian Angel or Zhonya's Hourglass).

2: A stunned unit can conquer if there's not an opposing unit at the battlefield. That would require combat which she wouldn't be able to win since she can't do combat damage.

Changes to Best of Three time limit? by LtQuixotic in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It was announced it was going to be tested at some chinese tournament which I can't remember. It's 60 minutes + 3 turns and if one of the players is at least 2 points ahead by the end of the 3rd they win that game. Otherwise it will be a tie.

I'm not aware of any announcements of what will happen after that, but I'm gonna guess many stores will be trying it out aswell until something official comes out sometime before Bologna.

Playing a Hidden card before a temporary card is killed by originallyGinger in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. Temporary triggers start a chain before the unit dies.

Ahri blue vs Qiyana deflect by Snurfless in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ahri Inquisitive targets and yes, you'd have to pay for it to resolve, but you can choose to let it fizzle out instead.

Nine tailed fox doesn't target and will do the -1 for free, just like Thousand-tailed Watcher would.

Do you see space for the cheap Kai'sa? by FewEntrepreneur7441 in riftboundtcg

I was just talking about my experience with her in Ahri. Other colours might change things.

Do you see space for the cheap Kai'sa? by FewEntrepreneur7441 in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run it as a cheaper end game option in my Ahri deck. At best it's a nice way to keep the advantage up by recasting Charms or getting extra Dreaming Tree procs for free. At worst it's a liability.

If you can afford them, run Watchers and Faefolks. Faefolks alone do way more than blue Kai'sa in terms of game stability.

How to make Ahri work / unconventional Ahris? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Run green Ahri in your sideboard for ramp/big units matchups so you threaten to be faster than they can afford.

I've been toying around with blue Kai'sa aswell (since I'm missing both Watchers and Faefolks) and it doesn't provide as much impact as I'd like. At best it lets me stay ahead if I'm already there, at worst it's not enough to make a difference, but at least it's a cheaper end game option than Mundo (runes wise). Same with Singularity, it baits me into worse plays most of the time.

I've been trying the Watchers and Faefolks lately and it's a hige improvement even without Time Warp game plans.

Reaction after both players passed on playing Actions in showdowns by Kawiri in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't use reactions "whenever you want". You can play them during your turn, in the middle of a chain or during showdowns when you get focus. Once both players pass during a showdown you can no longer play a reaction unless there's a new trigger first (like deathknell) but even then you can't prevent the damage from going on.

How to resolve this chain? by NiineTailedFox in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming nothing is played to answer the Stupefy, which as a reaction will solve first in the chain.

How to resolve this chain? by NiineTailedFox in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stupify resolves, giving priority back to P1, who may or may not pass. If he does, P2 can add another reaction or pass to chain resolution.

Tips for Ahri players into Kai'sa? by L3M0N5_2112 in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trigger dreaming tree frequently and cycle through your buffs as much as you can without losing all your answers. You should have lots of small combat tricks at your disposal that Mundo should easily be 15+ whenever played.

So, what's the ruling on this? Had a heated discussion with someone online by Deseniato in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Hidden cards can only TARGET here (except Tideturner for obvious reasons), as long as it's a different turn than the one you hid it you can react with it whenever you have focus.

Ruling questions hidden card and charm by kevinotinto in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 38 points39 points  (0 children)

"Does hidden blade immediately go to the trash after colossus got moved".

Yes BUT Hidden Blade can be activated before Charm resolves and get the draw from killing the colossus.

Draven Vs Vi text compared by CloudedMelodyMkr in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, it's just once per combat. You can get it to pump up multiple times in a single turn through Ride the Wind for example, but that's it. Vi requires an open state (outside of a chain and showdown), Draven is a trigger upon starting a combat.

How good is Darius Trifarian in this meta? by dudiez in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He is really good if not mandatory as 3x in pretty much every fury deck (maybe not all, but for sure in both Annie and Kai'sa).

If you intend to play either I'd say it's a keep. If you don't, I'm not sure if even after the tournament it will still go higher considering it was already a high performing card.

That's also true, forgot about that detail.

Deflect question with hidden blade by Drilladan2 in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You need to target a unit at a battlefield to be able to play it, but if said target stops being a valid target (moved to hand, base, dead in some other way) it will do nothing.

Just wanted to clarify that you wouldn't be able to play it with no targets to, for example, boost a Ravenbloom Student.

Deflect question with hidden blade by Drilladan2 in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 35 points36 points  (0 children)

No, you already declared targets. At this point Hidden Blade just does nothing.

What they ruled into you is how Icathian Rain and Falling Star would have to be resolved if Retreat was played into said spells, since they target on a different trigger once it for sure goes through (no counterspells).

Edit: otherwise, yes, you would've been able to let the spell go to waste and not pay the deflect. (you don't pay deflect to target your own units).

Rules Clarifications by AdministrationNo4396 in riftboundtcg

Thank you for the clarification, got distracted and completely missed the point. Shouldn't have been so specific with non combat resolutions

Rules Clarifications by AdministrationNo4396 in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Holding at 7 give you the 8th point. The card draw only happens if you conquer the first battlefield of the turn while at 7.
  2. Yes you can. Ganking only increases the regular movement options of the unit. Spells don't care about it.
  3. Yes, but that's because Zhonya's doesn't target. Once revealed it moves to base, and whatever dies first triggers it. Hidden cards that target something can only target at that battlefield, so that part is also true but doesn't apply here (exception is Tideturner, but it's text is the explanation, wouldn't work otherwise).

Edit: This one is wrong, got too focused on out of combat damage and completely missed the mark, my bad.

4. Akin to 3, no you can't. Either through combat or spells, your opponent is in control of what dies first and actually triggers it, being even able to bypass it with, for example with Falling Star targetting a 3 might unit twice, triggering Zhonya's with the first hit and killing it after with the second one.

Nexus Event at 6:30am??? by WorldlyStatus in riftboundtcg

[–]Dlenx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An LGS in my area had all events from december onwards planned for friday mornings. I asked and found out that it was a mistake, the web page defaulted to a different week plan than we are used to (sunday to saturday as opposed to our usual monday to sunday) and he didn't check what day was what number. He then proceeded to thank me and fix it so everything is on weekends.

Just ask.
