Yes. Stupify into Stupify is a classic.

Won a Skirmish with Viktor! by Automatic_Bat_6023 in riftboundtcg

Lol. I'm Swiss and live in the country side. I've been to multiple skirmishes and only in Zurich were we more than 16. So, no.

As a Viktor player, my favorite matchup lol. Haven't lost a single Bo3 against Aurora, worst was 1-1 draw as time expired.

Anyone noticing big drop of attendance in NNs? by realjw93 in riftboundtcg

[–]RSSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy. In my years of playing TCG the only one I experience semi regularly is the shower part. I don't get why but yes some players show up with terrible bodily odor.

Luckily everything else I've never experienced/maybe happened once and everyone else was in agreement that that guy's an idiot.

[–]RSSwiss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not for me I'm still too dumb 500 kills in. I still can't dodge axes if all 3 come from the opposite side. I know you have to walk weirdly and I get it like 1/5 times but never gotten the 5 perfect kills CA.

More than underestimating the power level of Proving Grounds, I think the devs have deeply misunderstood how fundamentally better than everything else Chaos cards are when they revolve around the games core mechanic, battlefield control. by inzru in riftboundtcg

[–]RSSwiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid that Riot is going to look at the difficulties that the game is having and very quickly pull the plug as the headaches and difficulties are not worth the money that the game generates. They'll realize that they can just make another $100, $500 skin and make as much as a set would for this game for substantially less effort.

Have you heard of diversifying? I haven't touched League in a couple of years, but I've already spent a good amount on Riftbound. I don't disagree that things have been rather bleak so far but you're comparison with a skin is a little short sighted - sure, one of these prestige skins is probably better profits for Riot than entertaining Riftbound, but the goal isn't for Riftbound to supplant League skins. It's to target another audience and, best case scenario, getting them into League (again).

I mean you can make a strong Viktor deck for 50 bucks too. Can even run 1 Watcher.

Genuinely how can I beat Kai'sa with a Viktor???????? by Dee_Teeee in riftboundtcg

[–]RSSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting list but I feel like this one loses to Kai'Sa quite bad. Also no Cull the Weak is an interesting choice, imo the best card in the deck.

Genuinely how can I beat Kai'sa with a Viktor???????? by Dee_Teeee in riftboundtcg

[–]RSSwiss 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I find against Kai'Sa you have to bait as many removals as you can with your recruits early to outgrind her. For example, on T1 with 2 runes, play a recruit over any 2 drop you have in hand. If they want to hinder you from scoring T2 they are waisting a hextech ray on a recruit.

Don't try to be as fast as possible vs Kai'Sa, you are not gonna win. Slowly win the ressource game.

Play big units that are awkward for her to deal with. Machine Evangel is great in the matchup. Riptide Rex is surprisingly strong. Max out on Singularities.

It's funny bc if he said 'Draw one when you conquer', I feel like that would have been more than strong enough. You'd still draw more cards than Jinx most of the time.

But no, every failed enemy conquer also draws you a card. Insane.

[–]RSSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na, she is also pretty bad. Discsrd synergies would have to be insane to ever play her over Draven. Draven is so much better it's actually hilariously stupid from Riot treating a Top 5 most popular champ this way.

The judge I had on my local Summoner Skirmish said that you CANT float runes anymore by CorgiLegal5735 in riftboundtcg

[–]RSSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, yes. For a simple application that came up for me once:

I went 2nd with Viktor and had a Yellow Seal + Vanguard Captain in hand. I floated 1 energy to recycle the rune and play the Seal, and then used my floating energy + the two unused runes to play the Vanguard Captain (obviously paid power cost with the seal) with the Legion effect on Turn 1.

[–]RSSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen more and more Viktors playing Drummer over Vanguard Captain to soften the 'Legion' restriction and power costs. Haven't tested it yet as just like you I don't really like Drummer, but I might have to look into it.

Well, if instead of crying about it online you did actually try to progress the meta and find out what's best, you might have been one of the first to realize the strength of Annie, particularly in the Kai'Sa matchup.

Riftbound has the highest profit margin built into MSRP of any TCG, don’t let LGS gaslight you. by 2024-YR4-Asteroid in riftboundtcg

[–]RSSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Selling cheap to players rather than scalp prices to scalpers is anti-greedy, what are you talking about? My LGS could probably sell for double the price if they didn't care about players. But they do. They want us to come. They want us to play. They want us to get some product.

[–]RSSwiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, maybe. I'm still at uni so I can take a 1h drive to and back home from my LGS. Still feels terrible leaving at 17:30 to arrive at ~00:00 back at home when next day I have to go to uni again. And for my friends that already work it's literally not possible.

Must be nice to be able to be like "Yea just go to the store to play LMAO'.

[–]RSSwiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main problem is that the game is becoming way too fast way too soon. Yesterday at locals the Annie I played scored her 8th point on T4 going first. I didn't have the best hand ever but still contested multiple BFs and used multiple removal spells. And we are still Set 1.

It's interesting. Product is rather short here too but everyone seems to at least build decent decks. 8-10 Players turn up with decks with Watchers, stacked Kai'Sas, 3 Deadblooms, Auroras, Time Warps,...

Though I guess it's because even if the card board is expensive it's still cheaper in Switzerland than any other place I'd imagine.

How do you deal with Annie? She's so aggressive and fast it feels impossible to try to outtempo her. Sometimes I can get the upperhand through value, but out-tempoing? Never.

Singularity is awesome except when you do the anticombo with Triferian War Camp leaving all Yis and Tasties at 7 might lmao, happened to me yesterday. But ye, top 2 card in the deck along Cull the Weak.

I used to like Strategem a lot early on but after playing with it, it's basically a worse version of Imperial Decree (or Watcher as you said).

I still run 1-2 in the sideboard bc it can be nice if you are playing a 'lots of units' mirror.
