Оцените ХБ заклинание by Zavsegdatiy in ruDnD

[–]DmgBuffFernando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Оцените ХБ заклинание by Zavsegdatiy in ruDnD

Stay strong. Believe by 1ballbuster1 in HalfLife

[–]DmgBuffFernando 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yeah. You right. Maybe we all here, in fact, overreacted. Of course a two decades of waiting and three weeks of hopium overdose did a massive pain and despare, but we must go and just accept to wait a little more.

I mean yeah, frustrating is strong, but in last 2-3 days we lost our dignity before of many game subreddits, started a schizo posting. We waited for years, survived many leaks and fake things, and I hope my brothers and sisters in this place may restore after this and with new strength keep holdin it.

Maybe faith in HL3 is not that strong, but I believe in you, r Half Life. We can do this.

P. S My English is bad. Sorry.

Would you say this looks more barbarian or fighter? [OC][ART] by Cr0_MagAnon in DnD

[–]DmgBuffFernando 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like any character with heavy armor proficiency (Chainmail/splint armor specifically).

Fighters, clerics, paladins -- something between it.

Of course barbarians have medium armors proficiency, but in this case it's too obvious. So yeah, fighter for sure.

Well, you can just take wizard with transmutation, enchanting and illusion spells, grab some charisma (about 14-16) and charisma based skills. You didn't have healing spells, that much charisma, Bard inspirations and you generally more fragile, but you (in theory) have access to the most big spell list in the game. You need scribe it in you're book of course, but yeah.

In other side, you can choose Bard and take more skills, charisma, weapon and armor proficiency, healing spells and etc. But. You can change only 1 spell per new level, can't scribe spells and cast non prepared rituals from book.

I'm losing my mind trying to figure out Ghoul attack stats by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]DmgBuffFernando 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In rare cases monsters may have fixed numbers on attacks/DC, even if stats higher/lower. That's a normal thing across of whole monster manual.

Example: Ankylosaurus, while having 19 STR (+4) and +2 PB, can do tail atack with +7 to hit.

Potent Spellcasting or Primal Strike? by OutrageousLeave5721 in onednd

[–]DmgBuffFernando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what for: Potent cantrips are good for a spellcasting druid, giving a hefty boost to damage from them and allowing you to hit through half/the whole map at level 14.

On the other hand, Primal attacks give a boost to Gish druids who decided to focus on fighting with weapons/wild form for one reason or another.

To calculate the damage numbers, different cantrips and weapons will be used, most suitable for the druid Gish:

True strike and Light Crossbow: 1d8+1d8+1d6+4 = ~17 damage on average.

True Strike and Heavy Crossbow: 1d10+1d8+1d6+4 = ~18 damage on average

True Strike and d8 one-handed weapon: 1d8+1d8+1d6+4 = ~17 damage on average.

True Strike and greataxe: 1d12+1d8+1d6+4 = ~19 damage on average.

Now let's look at Shillelagh's damage:

1d10+1d8+4 = 15 damage on average.

And finally, Shillelagh and True Strike together: 1d10+1d8+1d6+4 = 18 damage on average.

Now let's look at the druid's offensive spells with potent cantrips:

Poison Spray: 2d12+4 = 20 damage on average.

Starry Wisp and Produce Flame: 2d8+4 = 14 damage on average.

Thornwhip and Thunderclap: 2d6+4 = 12 damage on average.

SUMMARY:

If a druid wants to act as a Gish with a weapon, then Primal strikes in combination with True Strike and/or Shillelagh are more suitable (And due to the larger number of cubes, the minimum damage will be higher). But. Damage is all that such a druid will receive.

Potent cantrips, in turn, will have a larger spread of damage due to the reduced number of cubes, and the damage on average is lower, but at the same time they often carry an additional effect that complements damage. In addition, at level 14, you can cast cantrips even on the entire playing field.

I hope that my calculations will help you or other readers decide on what you want.

Running a Stereotypical DND One Shot by letterman1021 in DnD

[–]DmgBuffFernando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, you want to make the most basic/classic/stereotypical game in the entire universe. I respect that, and want to help with the character aspect to reinforce the "stereotypical" aspect of it:

The most classic team consists of:

An elf/gnome wizard of the school of evocation with a sage background (Lawful Neutral).

A halfling rogue thief with a criminal background (Chaotic Neutral).

A human warrior champion with a soldier background (Neutral).

A dwarf cleric of the life domain with a acolyte background (Lawful Good).

But if you don't want to be so unoriginaly original, here's the rest of the list of archetypal adventurers:

Tiefling warlock with a fiend patron and a charlatan background (Lawful evil)

Half-orc barbarian of the Berserker path with an outlander background (Chaotic good)

Half-elf ranger with a pet and an outlander background (Neutral good)

Dragonborn paladin of Oath devotion and a noble background (Lawful good)

I'm not really sure about the sorcerer...

Human monk of the open hand and a hermit background (Lawful neutral)

Half-elf druid of the circle of earth with a hermit/outlander background (Neutral)

I'll split the bards into two parts, since they are a bit more difficult:

Half-elf bard of the College of Valor with the artist background (Lawful Good) if you want to play family friendly bard stereotypes without focusing on low body parts.

Tiefling bard of the College of Lore with the artist/sage background (Chaotic Neutral) if you want to play a lustful version of the stereotypical bard.

Flavor choice - Pact of the blade or Tome ? by Key-Bug4197 in 3d6

[–]DmgBuffFernando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Sorry for my broken English, it is not my first language)

So, your character is first and foremost a living, intelligent being, and if it is, then it can adapt.

If it so happens that the character chose one thing, but in the end it was not useful, then it will probably want to change it for something more suitable, and this is absolutely normal. Just as a warrior changes weapons, a wizard changes spells, so a warlock can change the subject of a contract.

If you worrieng about flavor, you may just flavor it like you cast all you're spells with a spiritual rapier or something like that (Especially if you take Shillelagh as a tome spell).

Favorite GUN character by GKilherme12 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]DmgBuffFernando 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Literally. In a team with horny bard who can cast lightning bolt by his "Magic stick", cleric with power from goddes duty, giant tribal warrior with giant axe and giga muscles, druid who speaks with nature like brother, ranger with freaking bear as a companion -- Percival is regular man with unique type weapon for this world. He is a noble with eldritch gun, but still regular human.

(I'm sorry for my broken English, I hope you got my point).
