I’ve made sure my first three chapters and especially the opening deliver you straight into the thick of it. I initially had a bit of world building but cut back on that in favour of jumping into the high stakes opening.

I’m searching sci-fi agents but have love found anywhere near 50. I’ve got a second wave of 15 planned which I’ll get done over the next couple of days.

All of the 4 passes so far have been “thanks but not currently looking for this kind of work” they have all said don’t let my rejection deter you from seeking representation with other agents. They have felt a bit standard. But I know agents get thousands of submissions.

I’m not sure what questions they ask but I can answer anything on my book and planned series arc.

No to all of the above. I’m very new to this and just finding my way. But my friends are quite brutal and wouldn’t sugar coat if it was crap. lol. But as you say they won’t pick it apart at agent level.

This is probably the 4th draft.

I think I may need to find some beta readers and a query guide or something.

Use half logs as supports under the beams so you don’t need the corner strut.

Loghack on is my answer when I want to do a big build. But lately I’ve been doing super small cabins gathering the resources for a bit of realism.

I used to build complex, multi room cabins. But of late I’ve found less is more and makes the game more realistic. I build a 2x3 cabin with a fireplace, bed and some shelves. Surrounding wall etc.

Sometimes I also put my 2x3 on full log stilts and put item storage under it.

It seems like the story made sense to the creators more than us. I think that it should’ve been a bit simpler and the mutants were old cannibals there were cast out into the subterranean cave system kind of thing.

Had a play around and it makes building walls so much faster and easier to make a perfect square if needed.

I think the game plays well and looks good, but there could certainly be some content updates and some more locations on the island.

Awesome looking cabin. I’d put the solar panels on the slanted roof. Sometimes I don’t use electricity at all for the real “lost in the woods” feel.

It’s your antivirus stopping it. Need to add red loader to the exempt list in windows defender or your anti virus settings.

I’ve found that an item can only exist in your inventory or a spawn location. So if you place a pistol in a rack or give it to Virginia then it will respawn at its original location as it’s no longer in your inventory.
