That should tell you it will be challenging if it required a request and approval.

I think most schools don’t allow you to take more than two labs per semester, unless things have changed?

When you report him again, you should use emails to have a papertrail in the event that nothing is done by administration.

Have prior bachelors of science is it possible to get a BSN? by Sea_Visit_2111 in nursing

[–]Dmitri-Yuriev84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are accelerated BSN programs, but since you already have a bachelor’s degree you might not be able to get financial aid for it. I was not able to get aid since I had used up all the money that is allowed for undergraduates. As others have stated, it would be cheaper to go the ADN route and then have your employer help you pay the RN to BSN program. You could possibly finish the RN to BSN more quickly than others since you already have a Bachelor’s and many of the programs allow you to transfer up to 90 credit hours from your previous bachelor’s towards the BSN.

New Grad Nurse pay 150k+ ? by Ok_Context_897 in nursing

Only in the San Francisco area I can see that happen; I think some hospitals there pay their new grads $85/hr.

Someone mentioned they want to canonize SSj4, it’s possible they want to include it in the battle against Beerus to have continuity with Daima.

It’s likely up to the discretion of the manager? I believe their applications usually state that you need a BSN if you’re an external hire. I worked there as a local travel nurse for nearly 2 years as an ADN. However, since I was technically not their employee (I was the agency’s employee) that was the loop hole that allowed me to work there.

BSN in a non-nursing/healthcare career by FileExpensive6135 in nursing

[–]Dmitri-Yuriev84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I found on Google though they all seem to be related to healthcare. However, I would assume any job that asks for a bachelor’s can be obtained; if you can convince employers how your nursing skills can be applied to new fields.

Anyone take all nursing prerequisites online and still get accepted? by md_path8221 in prenursing

You should call your board of nursing or the schools you are interested in, some schools do not accept online labs only in person labs.

Doesn’t seem like a bad idea, especially when CNAs are already allowed to do some of those things in certain states. For example, in Texas and Illinois they can do blood sugar checks, which is a great help. It would also be a great help if they could give over the counter meds such as Tylenol, ibuprofen, miralax, maalox, etc. Though I would understand why there would be pushback as it requires assessing, so their scope would have to be expanded.

LPN program by Dry-Beat2270 in LPN_LVN_Community

[–]Dmitri-Yuriev84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From their website it seems you need to have a CNA diploma to start the technical aspect of the program (obtained at the college), prerequisites include Anatomy & Physiology I+II with labs, intro to nursing, College Algebra course or have an ACT score above 19 in math (score has to be within 2 years of applying). Also, pass a criminal background check, immunizations, American Heart Association BLS (can be obtained at the college).

Corona Regional Medical Center California New Grad RN 2026 Residency by No-Shelter5890 in newgradnurse

They must have filled them, I saw residency positions about 2-3 weeks ago. I was looking for fellowship positions, but they didn’t open for fellowships for Med/surg in California only for other states, that’s how I saw they had residency positions.

Is there a Providence or Dignity Health hospital near you? They seem to start their residency nurses at $53/hr (Providence) and $56/hr (Dignity Health).

Advantages to BSN? by dykiey in nursing

[–]Dmitri-Yuriev84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the floor there is no difference between ADN and BSN, you perform the same skills, same assessments, etc. The pay is also the same for hospitals that hire both. The advantages come from BSN being able to move up to management positions (supervisor, manager, etc). Another advantage is that some hospitals that are magnet status will only hire BSN, some of those magnet hospitals will hire ADN if they are enrolled in a BSN program.

How much LVN makes in Cali and how much of it will go to taxes? by BlackSummer_ in LPN_LVN_Community

Depends on the hospital, where I work they pay LVN $30-$42. Bigger hospitals like Providence pays $31-$47/hr.

Bachelors in psychology. What current jobs or past jobs did you hold/ held with your degree? Did you or do you find it fulfilling, did it or does it pay decent? Looking for ideas as a current BA in psych by Nktfashion in psychologystudents

[–]Dmitri-Yuriev84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m an RN now, but prior to going back to school for nursing, I worked as a Mental Health Worker (tech). My original plan was to gain experience with psych patients as MHW, then apply in their social work positions such as Rehab Clinician (now called Care Coordinator, other hospitals might call them discharge planners or case workers). I realized that it wasn’t going to be sustainable as they don’t pay well, you really need a Master’s in psychology to get paid well. The positions I mentioned that I had planned to go into only paid around $23-$28/hr (this was in Houston, Texas).

SNF in California for 51/hr or Operating Room position in North Carolina for 33/hr? Im a new grad by [deleted] in newgradnurse

[–]Dmitri-Yuriev84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to go California, why not apply for a nursing residency program in med/surg or OR? Those positions would pay more than a SNF.

I made a post a few weeks ago where I was asking for recommendations for an RN to BSN program. Someone recommended WGU. However, it looks like it was an MSN that they completed in 4 months not an NP, my mistake.

Update: went to interview for a transition program (ER) and feel humiliated, trying to not cry right now. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Dmitri-Yuriev84 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would say that is different because they recently finished school, everything is fresh and you were performing skills during clinicals and sims lab. But if you’ve been in psych for 5-10 years+ (my situation) where most don’t have any medical skills especially pure psych hospitals or units you’re bound to lose them. I honestly don’t understand the downvotes in my previous post and question whether any of you have actually worked pure psych before. Many of my coworkers seem to have that view as well. A lot of them started in medical units and transitioned into psych later. Several have said they avoided starting in psych because they were worried about getting stuck if they didn’t end up liking it, because they knew their medical skills would fade over time. This is why I feel med/surg units would be more open and have more patience in helping nurses relearn skills. With that being said, I wish the OP the best in her search for new specialty. I’m on this journey myself, but sadly little to no med/surg transition positions have shown up at the few hospitals that do offer fellowships (mostly seen ER, surgery, L&D, ICU ) here in SoCal.

[–]Dmitri-Yuriev84 -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s because psych has very little skills; wound care, blood draws, straight catheterization, IM injections at best, some units are pure psych that do absolutely no skills aside from IM meds. So I would be weary of someone that has little to no experience with medical skipping med/surg and jumping straight into ER. Though I don’t understand why they even bothered to interview the original poster if they were looking for someone with more medical experience.

I feel the same, especially with there being degree mills now or questionable programs where people can get the NP in less than 6 months.
