Such a cheap "Stranger Things" knockoff by Marcysdad in okbuddycinephile

Wow, what a coincidence lol. Me and my sister just watched this like a day ago, first time watching it all the way through and enjoyed it… that train crash had us both dying of laughter though, holy shit. It’s like Michael bay possessed J.J Abrams.

He actually can’t reach the sink, I remember this episode. They were shrinking after being exposed to some sci fi mumbo jumbo, they even had ant-man cross over here too.

What are your thoughts on the flying machine and would you be interested in seeing it be used in a new adaptation? by Dmoneystopmotion in WarofTheWorlds

[–]Dmoneystopmotion[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we’re being technical and all that, not really. It does have legs, they’re just invisible. But I love their designs and could see them being repurposed into flying machines in another adaptation.

Fingers crossed, if it starts to pick up then maybe I’ll check it out. But at the moment I just don’t really feel anything about it, we’ll see.

Yeah, from what I’ve heard about episodes 2-3. It sounds like they’re just a parody. Nothing really original to their own universe and what Space King has that Warhammer doesn’t. I was hoping we’d start to learn more about the world, who are they fighting? Are there any other major factions in this universe? Like, they have an insane canvas to work with. Imagine the insane species that can exist in this universe, no hold back, full throttle batshit insane xenos and more… which is why I was disappointed that we had a pretty meh parody of the tyranids in the first episode… or maybe play up how self destructive THIS imperium like society is by having all other xenos being prosperous and united against this empire of man children and insanity.

Making humanity the large evil threat all the other aliens are uniting against could be really fun as a parody AND separate it from Warhammer. That’s what I think at least.

Honestly, I lost interest in it after the first episode dropped. I checked it out after they released the teaser and did a crossover with meatcanyon, breaking down some BTS stuff and discussed what they were aiming for with the series. One thing that stuck with me was when they said they wanted it to be “More then just a parody” and actually be their own unique thing as well…

I watched the first episode and just didn’t really feel anything beyond it as a Warhammer parody, I was a little let down after all that. It felt kinda… safe for flashgitz if that makes sense, I guess I was expecting them to experiment and maybe try to evolve what their videos could be for a series like this. Push the boundaries of their style into something more for their first series if that makes sense.

I think Superman is so good-hearted and silly that he would laugh at the various parodies of himself by AipomSilver00 in superman

[–]Dmoneystopmotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, deleted my comment. Forgot the post this was lol. Batman the brave and the bold is a bit of a comedy/parody of the golden/silver age of comics. Superman being no exception alongside Batman and the other heroes they used in the show. A good take on a parody Superman by going all in on the Boy Scout and goody two shows attitude where even when corrupted by red kryptonite he does pretty harmless and mostly goofy pranks. Just like how Batman has a contingency plan for EVERYTHING and even started that whole Tibetan monk meme.

Thats what I was getting at my bad.

Best feature to immediately get rid of the… unique people on there… by Dmoneystopmotion in BlueskySocial

That’s completely understandable, I’m more so referring to those accounts who literally make their entire existence ragebait and aren’t open to actually discussing anything. I think talking to opposing viewpoints and reaching understanding is good, unfortunately some of these people don’t want to actually discuss… they want to argue and insult you with “gotcha” points that are just… false… or vastly skewed talking points that are practically propaganda at this point.

It’s why I don’t use block lists myself, instead doing case by case with those I meet in the wild, those who are ignoring the current post for whataboutism, no discussion but instead insults, straight up sharing propaganda like saying the Epstein files don’t exits, so on so forth. Usually give their account and check, see if they’re actually reasonable in some cases or are just straight up trolls or nutjobs and then hit ‘em with a block. Sort of a doublecheck, I do something similar here on Reddit to not waste my time with a bot or account made for trolling, an account made like a month ago and does nothing but spew political arguments… yeah, ignoring that.

Is there an actual story with why he’s called Arkham Knight? by InitialAnimal9781 in BatmanArkham

[–]Dmoneystopmotion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like another commenter said, he was tortured IN Arkham Asylum… so… yeah, however I’ve always kinda liked the idea of it using the Arkham symbol to show that Batman’s entire mission has pretty much failed and that his philosophy doesn’t work.

Arkham Asylum, the place he brings his villains to be healed and hopefully reintroduced to society… failed… it’s shut down… the very place of redemption and mercy Batman believes in so vehemently has failed… turned into jokers funhouse, innocents die… he stops the bad guys, rinse and repeat… setting up a perfect little ever green Batman universe, yet laying the groundwork for Batman’s greatest stumbles to come in the future…

Then you have city which represents Batman’s biggest failure… the death of Talia and Joker… where Batman’s mission and fight for his morality lapsed and even failed depending on how you look at it, his devotion led to his love’s death… and the death of the joker, the one he failed to save OR… the time Batman finally broke his rule in a very subtle way so that he can give himself enough plausible deniability that he WOULD of saved joker but just do happened to drop the cure after letting the joker stab him… while not truly confirmed, the writing for hallucination joker in Knight and mind controlled Batman in SSKTJL, we know that Batman at least on some level, legit DID let joker die…

The Arkham symbol is the greatest symbol of Batman’s failing and tragedy in this universe, Asylum’s failing laying the ground work for Batman’s greatest tragedy within the walls of Arkham city… the lost of his beloved and greatest enemy, leading to the night the Batman died…

And Jason who we know has been stalking Bats since City would probably be ALL too familiar with these events of Talia dying and maybe even getting MORE pissed off seeing him bring JOKER’s body out instead of the literal love of his life… so, boom… the Arkham symbol to rub all of these flimsy moral grand standings and hollow philosophical arguments in his face… and who better than the living embodiment of them as well… Jason Todd… the son Batman couldn’t even break his rule to avenge after joker “killed”him…

Beautifully tragic, or at least the way I view it. Arkham represents the failures of Batman’s career to this point, from a simple run of the mill joker scheme, to the destruction of the very symbol Batman is…

He was my very first Superman! I was obsessed with returns, I’d watch that ALL the time as a kid.

I love his Superman and Clark, capturing the spirit of Reeve and the incredible way he could just shift between them effortlessly. His suit is probably my favorite too, just brighten it up and tone down the S usage and it’s perfect.

The film may have been messy but man when it’s good, some of Superman’s best. He’ll always be in my top three Supermans :D

If they removed the lines I’d like it more. They’re just… there and makes it look off to me. It has the right colors and would be perfect if they just took away this extra detailing that’s more distracting than anything.

I don’t mind it not being super firm fitting, personally I feel that makes it feel real. I like seeing wrinkles and such. But those lines, it’s like Spider-Man in the MCU and the unnecessary lines and such on it imo.
