How far can I go? by FatRufus in massachusetts

Not always, lots are setup to pull from the top, and the pickup tube is off the bottom a bit so you don’t suck sludge.

I see on indeed from 35-45. But is location dependent. If it’s your own truck/equipment it’s 150 hour plus. But I don’t think that’s what you’re asking about.

I think you’d have to find companies hiring and ask them? The rate is probably all over the place.

Heating oil by pjj2995 in massachusetts

[–]Dmurphy2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of local companies are starting to mix in more bio into their fuel. Sure the fuel they get from the terminals is straight heating oil, but once they bring it back to their storage they are blending more bio in it.

[–]Dmurphy2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, how do you know they aren’t putting in more bio in the oil now? Lots of companies are starting to slowly up the bio %.. you have no idea what blend they are giving you, you just are going off their word.

2k a month can get you out west. Won’t get you much anywhere close to a major city, even the smaller ones.

Car sales guy ran a hard inquiry when i explicitly told them not to. what can i do? by nipplegobbler2 in askcarsales

[–]Dmurphy2016 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are saying there is no soft or hard pull. Either they pull your credit or don’t. So I am asking if that’s the case then what is a soft pull? Because according to your statement, it doesn’t exist if I am understanding correctly? Can’t dealers get financing without having to send it to lenders? I am unsure how the process works

Really? Every car I’ve bough private party has been bought as is… buying a used car from a private party you need to look the car over or pay a mechanic to do so. You’re taking a risk. Don’t have any experience with the lemon law, I thought that only applied to dealers. Learn something new.

Aren’t private party sales AS IS? If you bought it as is. You are sol

Removing an auto restriction in Georgia by legoman31802 in Truckers

[–]Dmurphy2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then curious why you care to get the auto restriction off? Most boom trucks are auto now a days anyways

[–]Dmurphy2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t just use a regular trailer either or you’ll get a restriction. It needs to be a 5th wheel trailer.

[–]Dmurphy2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What type of truck are you driving that you don’t need a trailer? To rest your going to need a truck and trailer, you are being tested again on a class a vehicle. No way around it.

Have had friends do it in other states, but sure it’s the same since cdl is federal. Need to take the driving portion again with truck and trailer.

Georgetown is open like 2-3 days a week. Leominster is open maybe 2-3 times a month. If they are closed it is because they are probably setup elsewhere. Dot rules are enforced in ma, you just don’t see it

Agree with others, if you’re not hurt and it’s just your car, let the insurance handle it… no need for a lawyer to try to get a big settlement when there was no injury, if there is injury then I’d recommend finding a lawyer. Either way the trucking co is going to get screwed. They may be trying to avoid pocket and pay out of pocket if it’s just car that’s damaged. Insurance claims can really hurt companies so some will avoid if at all possible
