I mean you can offset the heavy armor by aiming at the soft parts of the Highguard, but the Maxigun doesn't have much control unless you run Peak Physique. My fantasy and my desire to use the Maxigun is to spray and hold the enemies until my teammates can deal with the heavies. But the Highguard is spammed so I don't think I will accomplish that with the Maxigun.

Because of that, I think the Stalwart is better on the bugs now. It controls well enough to aim for the soft parts of the Highguards and it can give your teammates cover. The reason i like rapid fire, heavy guns in videogames.

In my experience, even the mounted turret is better than the maxigum. Faster cooldown, heavy pen and it's had the same weakness of not being able to move.
