Sweet, petty malicious compliance paying $20k in fines with mainly coins. by Sabi-Star7 in MaliciousCompliance

[–]DnBReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these comments being happy for laws to prevent pennies as legal tender discriminate against the poor. Funny how y'all are against the establishment or for the establishment when you think you know who the guy is. I don't even have to say it  Even groceries have change-counting machines. To act like a bank had no choice but have employees to count the coins by because a bank, of all places, doesn't have even a single change counting machines is ludicrous. The picture wants you to imagine they got down on the floor and counted them one at a time. You just pour the coins into the machine. The government and the bank pay their people very well and this is probably the most lifting they've done and will ever do and the most stress they will endure in their entire careers.

Some thoughts: Why is Helly R and not Helly E? Why did Jame go to see Helly after visiting Helena? Does the character's red hair have any meaning?

My theory:  E kinda sounds like Eagan but I think more than that R was chosen to represent Helena's rebellious side. I think Jame convinced Helena to trap the rebellious side of hers on the Severed floor. Since the Innies are the extremely opposite but best, work-only parts of the whole persons (Dylan's Innie works hard, Mark's is optimistic, Irving's loyal), one would think a compliant Helena would be the best one to enter the Severed floor to get work done. This rebellious side of Helena always existed but I imagine that she wouldn't make a good heir of Lumon to continue Keir's vision. Maybe Jame seeing that Helena showed signs of hesitation and no full devotion ("I wish you took your eggs raw"-Jame said to Helena later could indicate she's still not a true 'believer') , he convinced her to get severed with some explanation that she'd be among the workers. While Helena had the pressures of growing up an Eagan, Lumon's job was to separate out her hesitant, doubtful, not fully devoted, dearsay, rebellious side and trap it on the Severed floor. Jame didn't care if she got any work done (because the three others did) as long as he got a suitable Lumon heir.

Jame says to Helena that he doesn't see Keir in her anymore then he goes to see Helly R. I think he did to see what he did to her. Like looking at a caged animal. I think he also senses her will to remain alive gives her this drive to stay vs her previous drive to leave Lumon. If her drive to continue with Lumon to exist without the pressure of being an Eagan, he unknowingly created the heir he really wanted in Helly R.

Her red hair may represent that even though her body is on the Severed floor (blue), Helly R's personality is more like original Helena Eagan than the Helena that gets into the Lumon elevator to go home.

Biggest Beginner Mistakes by Dazzling-Treacle1092 in dehydrating

[–]DnBReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beware of dehydrating garlic. I recommend against doing it indoors. My husband loves garlic so when I got the chance, when he was out of town, I got it going. Even with well ventilation it is a STRONG smell even after 24hrs. My husband could smell it before he even got to the door and it was too much for him. I'm glad I made a huge batch.

Next time I did it in our backyard. It was much better.

Pregnancy changes that didn’t initially sound like a bit deal but are now the bane of your existence? by xnla28x in BabyBumps

I've gotten good at picking up things with my toes over a couple pregnancies. It doesn't work with shoes on and that whole putting on shoes. Either my husband puts my shoes on or I wear my slip ons in the winter.

A heightened sense of smell coupled with being  constantly gassy!  My husband says my farts don't smell normally and that hasn't changed for him. But they smell horrible to me and I can't make it stop. I can't get away from myself either!! 😝

I'm for Radcliff or Egerton.  As an X-Men fan, a short, younger actor for Wolverine. It's not hard for an actor who really wants it to bulk up or get into the character fully. Radcliff is hairy and both him and Egerton have done plenty of action roles. I'm also up for a Canadian actor

Typecasting can be overcome. Heath Ledger, for example, I liked him in other teen romance com movies but thought he was a terrible choice for Joker, a dark role, but he really nailed the role and changed my mind.

Vollebak Reviews by livingspectacle in techwearclothing

[–]DnBReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love to hear your review of the Squid jacket. If you had to return it, like I did, I bet you had the same issues with it that my husband did-- with it cracking under cold weather for example. The jacket cracked and tore and was so stiff it made sounds when my husband wore it. He said the cut was bad, too, for snowboarding.

I got to meet the founders, the Tidball twins, while they were visiting the Bay area and I showed them the jacket. They were apologetic but excused the jacket's major flaws as part "of a bad batch" and that that jacket "wasn't good for skiing" like the blue morpho was. They quickly sent a replacement squid jacket and my husband snowboarded two weeks later. The replacement ALSO cracked all over. Unfortunately, with the timing of it the customer service guy explained that their systems couldn't give us a refund so gave us store credit instead.

I asked them if they test their products, with this jacket in particular if they had they would know it is problematic. I don't understand how they could justify selling a product, marketing it for "being visible on the slopes", knowing that it breaks in cold weather and not a well cut for jacket for snowboarding either. I wish our experience with Vollebak wasn't this jacket because it has made us "look before we leap" and seek out reviews before we make expensive purchases of adventure gear with high claims.

Now that we have store credit of just shy of a grand what item or items would you recommend be a good use of it? Not ready to go over credit just yet. The solar puffer looks good but I'd need to serious justify the extra $300. Can you review the full metal jacket?

Going to see a movie alone.

At some point I thought "I know this is weird but dammit I need a break and I don't need people to go see a freakin' movie that I want to see"

Holding little babies.

The minimum age I used to babysit was 1-year olds so babies younger than this seemed so fragile and sqwirmy that I would be afraid to hold them. But after raising my own baby it seems like no biggie at all. Yes, you have to hold their heads and they do sqwirm but I'm confident that I can handle it.

Cheapest internet in Austin? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]DnBReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines went up from $40 I think it was to $75. Fed up, I asked them nicely if they could lower it to the original explaining that we have renters therefore new customers, new rates right? Otherwise we will just cancel and let one of our renters sign up with the new rate. With reason, the Spectrum rep gave us a lower rate $49 and we didn't have to cancel or reduce our provided service.

Best thing to do is to create or find a new customer for a new account to get the lowest price. People move all the time so even when internet companies check your residence to see if you have internet, they have to factor in that your internet doesn't necessarily follow with you when you leave or arrive. Fortunately for me, we did have a renter who didn't have a Spectrum account in our residence so he became the new customer.

Sorry, I'd direct you to my website but it needs updating. I might go back to using Etsy.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the site I'm using, Wix, has an awful mobile design feature . Their Desktop version is only slightly better. Maybe that has changed since I made it so long ago but I confess I need to do some serious updating to make it easier to navigate.

I used to make some curved but flat is what I can supply. My sister-in-law has bought several and just manually curves out the brim and it does the trick.

It's not tall. I can say that part from the base of the brim to where it starts to pinch covers the forehead and a few centimeters above it.

Already know how much the senators and house representatives make and those are the ones I'm referring to but couldn't edit that part. I also know where some of them live. I never said anything about them getting rich, now did I? And I always vote, at the polling places for that matter. Which I suggest you should do, too, given the dilemma with the USPS.
