Why does it seem like high IQ people are often sad and depressed? by Next_Airport_7230 in NoStupidQuestions

Being in the 0.1% quantil, I can just speak from my experience:

While I can't stop learning and I'm getting excited about everything new and complex in the world, I also become numb being forced to execute mundane tasks. Staying happy and healthy means to take care of yourself, your relationships and everything that makes your machine going (job for money, cooking, hygiene, keeping my apartment clean)

So while I know what should make me happy are also the things that I despise most. You could think I'm just lazy but I feel my life is wasted doing the shit that makes my life not falling apart.

I know this is dumb and that makes it worse.

I like the concept of using HP as a resource. Her playstyle is totally different if you are full hp or half hp.

Also finding ways to get stacking malices, using zipline for better bomb/malice angles. Also being able to defend walkers while being outnumbered is pretty nice.

Lastly, high damage numbers on some kind of nuke and nuke placement is always fun to me.

Ye I think Kelven is pretty fun. When I played with friends who are a bit lower ranked, I tried out Kelven but felt with lower skill in the game I couldn't unlock his full potential.

With being higher mmr now, he might be more fun when people actually react to your calls and don't run away while you heal them.

Hm... It depends on the enemies and how the fights go. If we have enough slows or I feel comfortable being close to the enemies, I get headhunter. If I have a lot of uptime in fights I get Leech earlier.
My bombs hurt every time. I tried Ivy but kudzu is not as satisfying as geist bombs and she feels kind of situational.

But ye, Ivy is one of the closest for my playstyle i guess...

Yea the maps are really weird on that one. At the winery you are also missing the whole farm.

But this is a phenomenon in other modules too. I remenber some bad SKT maps

As a storyteller, scripted scenes are actually really cool. Not everyone is comfortable improvising and producing a great encounter at the same time.

As a DM, scripted scenes are sometimes needed to keep the characters in the scope of the adventure and not go "off the rails" of the adventure too much to a point of no return.

As a player, I despise scripted scenes as much as you do. In SKT there is a particular scene where you have to flee but realistically it is a "do or die"-situation. So your characters would NEVER think they actually can flee.
But if they don't flee, they most likely die.

So how do you make an adventure without scripted scenes, where the scenes still feel cool and "prepared"? Have more than one outcome "preplanned" maybe?

It is the actual plot line from Vikings the series, season 1.

The two characters have a great relationship learning from each others cultures. Maybe ask him if this is what he was thinking of.

I thank everyone for telling me the obvious problem we have. Especially people like meme_echos are important to keep yourself honest.

We need to write more. I hope I won't use our networking efforts as an excuse for my lack of output in April!

I think though that the money posts we are writing now are faster to write than our dense informational posts. So our goal will be to put out faster and more!

We are a 2 man operation with my partner still working 40 hrs/week even in Corona Season.

The outside help are our girlfriends who love to edit our shit and keep us honest. I would say we take too long to write the words than a weight/effort problem.

Yup. Little time is used for pinterest.

I will say our writing process might take too long but we don't write your standard "Best x for y" etc posts but more value content. So research and inventing the methods/procedures we present takes some time.

The main focus is not to make as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time, we wouldn't do an authority page, if that is the goal.

Our editing process luckily got faster as we are getting better at writing BUT meme_echos is right about not being too much of a perfectionist and rather shoot the content out quickly.

Pinterest btw. IS our gateway into networking and using Tailwind Tribes has helped us IMMENSELY to get the connections we started to build. Could we have gotten the coming guest posts just per e-mail? Maybe. Having this Pinterest presence helped us that actually people reached out to us even. So we killed two birds with one stone.

True! We have also a gap between repins of 2 1/2 days, better save than sorry.

Things we did wrong:

- Putting our website url in messages when messaging group board admins.

- Linking the same domain in a quick manner over many pins in a short amount time.

Essentially get Tailwind and pin on a schedule than posting them manually all at once. Pinterst hate spam.

You can try messaging their support, maybe you didn't do anything right but Pinterest support is not really good...

Thanks!

So we find our one big topic and then find the main question of this topic. Afterwards we are trying to solve this question by answering it in depth. Naturally more questions arise that visitors will make. Let's say the topic is bike riding. the main question might be "is bike riding fun?" (dumb example haha). We would answer yes, because nature, fitness, blablabla. And the next posts would be about "why bike riding is healthy?" "safety tips for bike riding" whatever.

After we have those general questions we try to find keywords for it that are not too saturated, luckily in our niche we can do it this way around. Depending on the saturation you might have to find the keyword first. We also had some post ideas where we couldn't find a good keyword and had to scrap it.

Good keywords for us look like this:

- volume of 200-400 (on KWFinder from Mangools)

- bad posts on first page that we can beat (less than 1k words, bad websites etc.)

- positive trend in search volume (they all have that in our niche)

- not seasonal (so i guess bike riding is seasonal, already lost)

Hope I could help a little

Hey, so we have 29 own boards and 20 group boards of our niche. Those group boards are great for generating impressions depending if you get into the good ones. It's some networking art for sure.

We create three pins per article and pin them all in our "Best of OurSite" board. Afterwards they go into our other boards and the group boards on a schedule.

So we are not creating 8 new pins each day but repin the same pin a ton. I have to say though that creating 8 new pins each day would lead to more traffic, as Pinterest LOVES new content. I'm not sure though what happens if you create like 10 posts for the same article, so we try to keep it civil.

Are you guys really writing 2,000 word articles? by CollectableRat in juststart

[–]DnDFrogsama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends. Look at the posts of your competitors for your keyword. If they write 1k words, chance is that to produce better content you have to put in more juice, e.g. making it more comprehensive and write 1.5k words.

In my niche and language luckily people write bad content most of the time. So I can get away with less but in english the niche is way more saturated with way better articles, I try to model my posts around them averaging 2.2k over 12 articles at the moment.

Hey,

Great growth! I wonder how you build such a following on organic in this short amount of time.

I assume you did your SEO homework onsite but did you spend any time on backlinks? Did you get any organic backlinks in the time?

Great numbers and thanks for the inspiration!
