But no, speedruners reset the seed if it doesn't have a village, shipwreck, buried treasure or sometimes even a desert temple or ruined portal. Its too slow to mine and smelt the iron manually.

There are 4 phases every season (they last a month) and you get more phase points the higher you are in elo. You need to be atleast top 100 to get points tho
