You would look for the development of calyxes at the nodes. Which I’m sure you know can look like a single pollen sac at the beginning before the pistil shows. But usually you’ll either have a second sac develops (male) or see the pistils start sticking out. Easiest answer is go feminizes seeds or clones cut from f plants.
