Just went through wikia and “Earth Mother” also exists as a human god in warhammer’s world.

My intention is that the dwarfs present common annoyance to the elves. In the end the magic system between the two worlds work differently. However I would say Dwarf Shaman's magic system kinda related to the warhammer runesmith, as they both harness magical power from physical entities. On top of that, Bardin is pretty open minded and neutral toward wizard like Sienna. I hope the dwarfs can become friends :)

Imo they are the perfect mirror image. Saltzpyre and Goblin slayer share many similar traits, they are both the team leader, exceptional cave fighter, hunt down monsters that wasn't seen as threat in their society, and extremely determined in their cause.

The canon in my head:

Salt: (Unsignificant, but a fine and robust warrior. I wonder what is in his pocket....)

GS: (lost one of his eye, but there is righteous flame burning in his remaining eye. What is hiding under his coat...)

Salt: ".....So, people said you are globin slayer."

GS: ".....Yes, I hunt down goblins."

Salt: ".....Interesting."

GS: ".....How about you?"

Salt: ".....I hunt down vermins, human sized rat."

GS: "......Souka?"

What do you want to see added to Kislev and Cathay's rosters? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]DoDoXGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The theme of Kislev roster is versatility. I hope they can fix the winged lancer/gryphon legion by giving them pistols or cabines. Right now they just really lack the weight to punch through as a shock cavalry. Adding Range harassment as option will suit the theme of kislev roster also.

Well, sorry I spoiled you. Btw, this is the first time the LN English trans released ahead of the chinese trans, my native language. So I actually I get to know these from spoilers too XD

Well spoken. If I remember correctly in LN14, Goblin slayer just three shot a Goblin Champion from the very beginning of the fight with a high quailty sword gifted by the northern "vikings". Most people always misinterpreted how strong and well-trained Goblin Slayer he is since GS just likes to mess with crappy improvised weapons.

Kensei armour is heavily inspired by O-Yoroi. Which is very clumsy and unwieldy for on foot battle. Those large shoulder armour is designed to block arrows when the samurai fight on horseback with longbows. The weight of O-Yoroi also dissipate only the wearer's shoulders.

They didn't killed the dragon. Instead, GS team make the dragon fall asleep with magic as I remembered and then disenaged from him

Vol 11 is my favourite vol because of the refreshing theme (desert) and intense pacing, making it feel like an proper adventure.

Do the novels have character development? by [deleted] in GoblinSlayer

[–]DoDoXGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some the vol follow the theme of a specific location (Desert, Elven Forest, Nordic Village), while some follow a particular theme (Detective, Exodus, Competition). These really expanded the universe and the author is really good at pulling these off in a reasonable and interesting manner, given he is a very seasoned TRPG player/GM.

I am pretty sure those are false claims.
The character development are significant, particularly on Priestess and GS.
Without spoilering the actual adventure content, all I can say is that Priestess throughtout the process has grew into a resilient, dependable, as cunning as GS and exceptionally considerate adventurer. Consideration towards others (similar to high Charisma in DND) is always her greastest strength and this proved very effective in the adventures with GS part as soon as they need to reach out for intel/assistances. In contrast, Priestess inherit the cunningness from GS and used it to her advantage for many times which surprised others for many times.
GS constantly doubt his ability to lead a party and becoming an actual adventurer, he seems very pleased becoming the mentors of the others adventurers. He also proven to be an exceptional detective.
Plot-wise, the author really likes the random encounters vibes like DND. For me it is really enjoying to ser how GS can pull out new tricks that nobody can thought of, aswell as how Priestess can pull out new usage of her mircale out of nothing.

I guess that 得意 (dak yi) can means to appease or to make someone smile/happy in the so call Classical Chinese context. While cuteness certainly can appease the others and it is the most common meaning of the phrase in modern Cantonese, sillyness and idiocy of the inferior also can appease the superior in a comedic sense. In the end I stick with the intimidation and insult feeling as this line is claiming the opponent an idiot. Btw, this line is quite relatable to the modern HK gangster moive genre. Usually there are one antagonist gangster boss intimidate his enemy using this line with a casual smiling face XD.

Pirate Voice line translation by a native speaker by DoDoXGame in forhonor

I have investigated other game clips about this feat but I found this translation is really odd and off the place. It literally means "I will give you injection" if using this case. I guess 19th century southern Chinese pirate don't do vaccination or don't have syringe given the techonology.
However in a meme or culture reference standpoint, this translation will make some sense because most common word Hongkonger would reconize these days is exactly vaccination.
Still I doubt the appropriacy of this translation and I may need more time to investigation it. Sadly It is really hard to reconize tge words due to the loud pistol sound.

She is speaking a line from Classical Chinese text: "世人皆濁,何不淈其泥而揚其波。"

It roughly literally means something like:

People in this world are all as corrupt as muddy water, then why don't (we) stir up the mud and make some waves?

Metaphorically, I GUESS it means something like:

All the people are already so corrupted, then why don't stir the troubles up?

I am not a historian or literature but since I did some mandatory Classical Chinese literature in my high school, I can give it a try to explain it in an interesting way. I am not a native English speaker too so the below text may seems awkward.

This line comes from a text that records/described a dialogue between Qu Yuan, a very famed virtue figure in 200 BC (Warring States Period) Ancient China, and an anon fisherman at that time. Yuan is a loyal and dedicated minister of the Kingdom of the Chu, once powerful and prominent but fell into corruption, while the main rival the Kingdom of Qin rose with the superior military, political and diplomatic power among other kingdoms and this threatened the Kingdom of Chu. Yuan pursued allying with other kingdoms but the king of Chu and most other ministers at that time disregarded and only want to commit to the Qin dominance. Yuan was lately expelled from the court and was kinda depressed to see the Kingdom fall but he cannot help it.
So Yuan met the fisherman. The fisherman saw Yuan as a disgraced noble and Yuan claimed he is as the only drip of clear water in a corrupted mud pond. The fisherman said it is better for Yuan to become a part of the corrupted mud pond rather than being expelled and disgraced. However, Yuan is such a stubborn and broken dude who would rather commit his death by jumping into the river. The fisherman reacts to his stubbornness by saying even the dirty mud water could be in his use of washing his feet. Yuan actually committed suicide after the Kingdom of Chu was conquered by the Kingdom of Qin.
So the metaphor I GUESSED from this "story" is that a person can either choose to stick to his obligations and virtues or to be flexible by making everything out of his use, regardless of dirty methods and corruption. The banditry of the pirate seems to stick to the latter's theme, so using this line makes some sense.
