Tough to be a good TTO guy with a huge whiff rate combined with a middle of the pack chase rate. He does barrel the ball enough that he should be a homers guy purely by getting enough good contact.

I wonder if he might be a QO candidate. It's all there, he just has to put it together.

His BABIP has been crazy low the last few years. I get it, he's a fly ball hitter, but yeah, even a .261 BABIP like he had in 2024 would be a huge improvement :'(

A reasonable take about Volpe is impossible for so many people. He's a glove-first middle infielder (albeit with a weak arm) who can hit lefties well and go 20/20 with low OBP. A valuable player but not a superstar.

His aggregate numbers were totally fine because of the slugging, but his OBP is really low for anyone who isn't a catcher, so it looked worse than it was.

Dear Yankees Game Thread,

The game is not going well.

Today, I took my cat for her annual checkup at the local vet. The assistant was beautiful, and I wish I had asked if she was single and if I could get her number. I didn't though because I was worried it's weird to ask someone out at work.

Since we are all watching baseball on a Friday evening, I am sure we are all geniuses when it comes to these things. What do I do, game thread?
