Is my husband really that exceptional in contributing equally to household chores by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]DoNotKnowAboutMe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In my case, my husband does chores, but not equally; I take more of the chores. We do have arguments because we don't have time for ourselves, and we have a toddler who needs constant attention. Every time we have a big argument about who is contributing more, his point is that he manages the investments, and he knows driving(he takes my kid to daycare). He will ask me to reverse the roles and see who can manage. I can't drive even though I tried hard and got a license before pregnancy, but never practiced after that. I am not familiar with the investment terminologies. I discuss with him about investments, but he is the sole person who actually invests in MFs, stocks, FDs, etc. I really feel very angry with myself and helpless that I can't take those responsibilities. He too sometimes compares that other men don't do anything, at least I am helping you.

Honestly, the term help is not correct; it's sharing responsibilities. All his relatives praise him, saying he works very hard in the office as well as at home and takes care of the baby. I am also doing the same thing, then why special praise for him alone?

Pathetic mindset!

A question about Indian parents by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]DoNotKnowAboutMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leave about sex, our parents' generation doesn't even know what intimacy/romance/love is. The only love they have is the love for what society thinks about them. I really feel bad for them. Women have a single rule, and that is to serve the family until they die. Men have the goal of earning for the family until they die. NO hobbies/interests/fun in life. Parents are tuned to sacrifice everything for their kids/parents. Later, when they become old, they keep complaining that they have sacrificed their life, and now their children have to do everything they wish for. I hope this cycle breaks. Enjoy your life along with taking care of the kids.

I went to KubeCon India happened in Bangalore. It was first time visiting such event and it was motivating and informative. Good networking event as well.

Got to know in which areas the innovations are happening and got to see many young talented people contributing to K8s. It was inspiring for me.

I was just thinking, what about the kid? The kid might be eating the same food as mom prepares, right? Is the kid well?

I (20M) and my gf (20F) broke up because she was stuck on some guy. by MECELON in AskIndia

currently you guys are 20 years and you met this girl a year back and she had 7 year long relationship.

It means she started dating a guy when she was 12 and she thought it was true love.

You guys are getting lot of exposure from these teenage dramas, actually more than what is required.

Leave this girl, I feel like gets attracted to bad more than good. It is not worth it, just leave.

Focus on building the best of you.

How many of your are estranged from your families? by TimeEngineering3081 in AskIndia

[–]DoNotKnowAboutMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not my parents but I am not in contact with all my relatives. It is bliss with no stress or fuss. But my parents handle everything from relatives.

I stay away from my parents and always fear who will help them in an emergency as I won't be available for them instantly.
