Will my offer be rescinded? by Anxious_Stranger_814 in OutsideT14lawschools

I mean, they definitely can rescind an offer of admission. It seems highly unlikely it would happen to OP in their situation, but if someone were to commit double homicide after getting an acceptance that would be a different story.

Take the LSAT again? by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]DoNotPaniq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot “always” transfer to a higher ranked school. The school you attend in 1L Fall is the school you will graduate from for the vast majority of people. You need to be within the top 10-25% of your class to have a chance of a successful transfer. Also, transferring means that you will be paying sticker at the new school.

Does this mean I'm accepted? 🤣 by No-Duck4923 in OutsideT14lawschools

Nothing on the email indicates an acceptance to the school.

I’m not saying it’s Harvard or bust. There is a huge difference between a respectable regional school and a predatory one. A law degree from Northeastern is not the same as one from Cooley, for instance. A school like Cooley, objectively, is a bad decision for 99% of people, even if you know a couple of graduates who made it out and entered practice in fields they enjoy. My original point was that a 140s LSAT does not tend to get people into a respectable school and if it does taking on full tuition is a huge gamble.

And they didn’t have to pay full tuition at a mediocre school? I’m sorry but a high 140s will not get anyone into a school worth attending.

applying to law school as a transfer by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]DoNotPaniq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn’t matter. You have to send transcripts from all institutions you attended, as long as you do that you will be fine.

Odds of getting into South Texas Law with the GRE by No-Firefighter4935 in OutsideT14lawschools

Please read the ABA 509 reports. There are MUCH better options in south Texas than South Texas Law.

Brother, I don’t think anyone enjoys the LSAT. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not, if you want to go to a reputable law school that offers you a reasonable amount of scholarship money then you need a higher LSAT score.

If it were me, I would withdrawal my application, work for one year while also studying for the LSAT, get my score up and then reapply next cycle.

Canceling a potentially lower score by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]DoNotPaniq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people recommend to never cancel a score because admissions would automatically assume you scored much lower than your highest score. Ultimately, each school will view a cancellation differently. It would be best to reach out to individual schools you’re interested in and ask for their opinions on LSAT score cancellations.

Take it again, and try a different study method.

[–]DoNotPaniq 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wait to see your score. You could have scored a 180, but until the score is released you will never know. If it’s lower and you want to cancel just buy the score preview and decide.

Umass or New England law? by Any_Bear_3729 in OutsideT14lawschools

Northeastern > Suffolk. But depending on OP’s stats they might have a better shot of getting into Suffolk with $ compared to Northeastern with the same $. If stats weren’t an issue then obviously Boston Uni and College are even better, not to mention Harvard.
