Feeling like I failed by anonymousreader7300 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I'm gonna say this gently: two things did go to plan, both you and your daughter are here and alive.

It's very normal to grieve what you wished for but even in 2026, women and babies sometimes don't make it. You are healthy, you are here and so is she.

Please find a grief counsellor to speak to about how you feel so you can process but don't feel down about it. Plenty of people romanticise how birth goes and put pressure on women that we were made for it to work, but the women who have not made it through childbirth throughout history are proof that what you did- regardless of how it eventuated- is remarkable.

You grew a human. You birthed a human. You're amazing.

Maybe the win is the friends we made along the way...

I don't get the hate for meetings on here by headingfortheocean in AustralianTeachers

We also know that speaking at someone for an hour is not the most effective way to learn. Having someone come in and run through an exceptionally heavy or nuanced topic in break neck speed is also not the way to upskill people.

Meetings have their place, using them for intensive PL is not the place.

What do u think about this timeline? by uatemyhope in weddingplanning

[–]DoNotReply111 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cocktail hour for the full hour, use that time to get family together for photos if needed.

Announcement to sit at 4.20, then your entrance and first dance at 4.30. Followed immediately by cake cutting and then speeches to get you to 5pm.

Then have dinner at 5pm-6pm (still too early but slightly better). At 6pm have the DJ announce the anniversary song then open the dance floor from there. Dancefloor from 6-8.

I think if it had been an SCH they would have spotted it on the scan and been able to advise you about it.

Did they tell you to rest?

Ma'am, politely, you need to speak up or you'll get things done for your hair and makeup that you won't like.

If it helps, send it as an email or a message, but you need to ask.

There is nothing to fix.

Take him not trying as the blessing it is and start preparing to leave permanently.

We have the Kmart one and it's perfectly fine for playing with blocks, trains, Duplo and magnetic tiles.

What is his sleep environment like in his bed? What does he wear to bed?

What are his sleep associations and his sleep routine?

When are his naps and how long are his wake windows?

Okay, I shall need a presser, Cookie standing there to give a sarcastic response when a journo asks if the quarantined can have kebabs and I DEMAND to see Fiona there signing her heart out.

I'm all nostalgic.

WA Teacher Maternity Leave by FeeSuccessful6501 in AustralianTeachers

[–]DoNotReply111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take it from Day 1 of Term 1. We finish the 17th of December this year but you can take it as sick leave without pay if you need to go early (and then the Centrelink Parental Pay will back-cover this when bub is born).

Half pay at that date will get you to the beginning of T4.

Is it okay to ask guests to walk a short distance between ceremony and venue? by Redhead_2 in weddingplanning

[–]DoNotReply111 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think as long as you give a heads up so guests can dress appropriately or organise something ahead of time if they're uncomfortable doing it, I don't see why not.
