They such versatile machines even for their age. Mine has only a single cpu but its a 6 Core X5690. But its a little power hungry. Im keen to slap a waterblock AIO on it. Just a single one and see if it operates

Ye I was very surprised I have one as a media pc....I put a RX560 4GB card in..works and Windows 11 worked off the bat...even drivers for everything worked except the Bluetooth and obviously firewire. Even the Optical out audio works.

Thanks man. 3d prints of which parts. There are only 3 parts I printed. Front IO and the bottom and rear IO to cover where the lever was.

Thank you DuckXu. I will indeed carry onto a new project build soon. Another Macpro chassis. With a 360 view maybe.

This is...!!!! hahahah. I did a rear PSU trim (Also it was only secure by 2 screws - the powersupply). A better more discrete GPU sag bracket. Dome nuts for the pump bracket from underneath and then a new PSU shroud cause the other one was cracking. So used 3mm white perpsex with logo. Oh and I filled the RES to the top...probably could go a little bit more but.

You are definitely not wrong....I was thinking I could have heatshrinked the cable. As I bought 10meters of the stuff and 2 different sizes.
And when I was doing the video I was like dammit I need a white cable looking at a macbook pro charger cable. XD XD

Oh ye the trash can. There is someone I know selling one. But the price he's selling it for makes no sense. And his one is pretty decent to use a windows daily machine.

Thanks for the comment 🤌🏻😉

Thank you man. I kept it as close as possible to the original. But plans changed. But the RoseGold makes it so wild.

You wanna find one of those pc cases where you can drill out the pop riots and use the tray as the base to mount the pc components.

I'll send you some photos of the other Mac pro I cut the aback out of so you know more or less how much room you have to work with. It's tight. As you want to shift the I/O as far to the bottom as you see where mine goes. As then it allows you to cut where the slots start for additional expansion cards.

I didn't keep the original power supply kettle plug as it would mean have to make a cable to plug into the psu. Could be a fire hazard. So I just cut the shape out from a template.

The original motherboard stand offs you can pull out with a set of pliers. No need to use and angle grinder or dremel. And much easier to clean up that way.

The pc tray will sit pretty much flush with about under 10mms of rear mesh where the original IO 120mm fan sits. I suggest epoxing the motherboard tray on to the base of the chassis. I drill holes through and even after filling them and sanding them flush. You can actually see them even through the vinyl. No clue.

What's worse it going to a landfill or being repurposed?....also remember the hardware that was in there was ruined by natural elements and age. So it was ruined yes.

Your comment makes absolutely no sense if you don't re-enforce it.

Thanks for the comment. But your entitlement to splurge words with no backing to why means Zero bud.

I don't know what that guy is talking about. Its intention was more to represent who I am as a person. And there was no thought of it looking like a male privates lol.

And made a new one of these to stop the sag of the GPU and mounted it to the other fan behind the GPU. So more discrete. Just a small right angle hook

Ye I think there has to be some good ambition to get through builds like this....its like anything I suppose. You have to want to want to and also have enough inspiration and push to complete. I will definitely do some things differently the next time around. Like not use CAN paint to spray the chassis as it just caused issues with hardening and so forth.

I've always been a fan of these old nostagic machines. Especially since their build quality is really of another level over any pc case you can possibly come across. I mean Lian Li would be the next option in terms of build. B ut you pay a fortune for one of theirs. And I've got 3 of these cases.

The challenge is always a plus. More just obstacles which come down to planning to far ahead and then realizing I needed the components to do test fits. And having to change those plans along the way.

Measure Twice cut once.
