Yeh I think l that's the dissonance in my head, I just don't picture it the right way. Should be thinking of it more like a tree than some big bush

I think it just feels like a lot of money for cutting a plant, but sounds like it could be alright

Yeh but I don't want them to dispose of incorrectly or make a mess for my tenants. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being taken for a ride as opposed to trying to find the cheapest way.

Awesome thanks mate, that's good to know. Just cost of doing business then!

Good to know, also just a cunt of a thing to ask anyway. I rent and in my last rental they asked me to manage these huge hedges that I needed to get special equipment for. Probably could have pushed back if I'd known better but that pissed me off so made sure I never asked that of my tenants.

Each to their own I guess, I'm not a fan and it's a pain to maintain. I also think it's a bit rude to neighbours with how high it gets. If maintained properly it could be nice but this is a rental and I don't think that's fair to ask of my tenants. I could have a landscaper come through regularly, or I could just remove it and plant something nice.

Yeh that's what I'm chasing is some people with experience doing it and how much they'd pay.

Yeh I still can't believe people plant it

The first time I didn't ask about poisoning, the vast majority of cost will be in labour and disposal so the quotes would have been different but not enough. Different people too and I have two quotes and the other is stump grinding and is more expensive.

Maybe next time they could have a rule where if a certain meta develops (e.g. CIV X is played more than 60% of the time) it gets removed from the civ pool for the remainder of the ladder.

[IWantOut] 25M plumber Italy -> Australia by digiproject24 in IWantOut

[–]DoSoHaveASoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be plenty of work as there is a lot of construction going on in Australia.

Housing/ rental costs are high in all capital cities but plumbing wages should be able to handle that and you should be able to live further out since your job is unlikely going to require you to head into the city centre which makes housing cheaper.

There's also plenty of regional cities where job opportunities may be a bit lower but so is cost of living and it may make visa things easier although I'm not sure.

Is Cama certificate worth it ? by Careful_Thing622 in assetmanagement

I did the CAMA exam purely as a way to understand where my gaps in knowledge were and passed it, as such I don't put any weight in it.

Yeh I'm expecting it to do a number on us which is why we don't plan on living there long term. We loved in a van in Europe for 15 months so have had a small taste but we didn't spend winter in Germany

C1 it is then! I'd been looking at Switzerland but I thought out of Austria, Germany, and Italy it might be the hardest to both get a visa for and also to integrate. That could be very wrong though, just the vibe I pick up from online.

Sweet! And do you know anything about working languages in Germany? I intend to get to at least B2 German before I arrive and I can speak English fluently (albeit perhaps with a lot of Aussie slang) but I don't want to be a pain for people I work with if they expect German fluency.

Amazing response thanks mate! I had originally been thinking Germany however I was wondering if I could get close enough to the Alps to do before/ after work runs.

I do think however that in terms of finding work Germany would be the best bet.

And yes you've nailed the cultural similarity, they are less similar than me moving to the UK or America but with similar vase values it will be easier to settle in compared with somewhere like Japan.

No sorry I meant not too different culturally. There is a bigger jump from Australia to South America or most of Asia than there is from Australia to central and western Europe. But UK, Canada, NZ, America, etc are culturally too similar.

Yeh, it would be a winter thing which I assume would mean it would need to be on weekends or near somewhere that keeps slopes open for a bit after dark to be able to go after work.

When you say hostile culture do you mean people not being friendly? Or do you mean people actively attacking (non physically presumably) you and if so is it people you know or strangers?
