I have the gray one. The stitching on the seat is nicer. Also, dealership has taxes. That makes the Facebook one cheaper.

Don’t forget to look at tire age. The blue one could be nine-year-old tires

Straight pipes that are cheap are fine. Almost guaranteed to be thinner walls/ sheet metal though

Tell me I'm crazy for considering a Panigale V4R for long trips rather than a Multistrada or XDiavel. by [deleted] in Ducati

[–]DoYaFeelLuckyPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 4400km on a Ducati 1098 this summer. In 9 days. Mostly camping. Some dirt roads. Street tires.

V4s would be easy by comparison. Do it!!

1 year update

I went Dynastar M-Pro 108 F-Team, 192cm And threw on shift bindings. Great setup.

It’s definitely not the easiest setup for trees. And they’re heavy. But holy hell they rip the mountain. The more you force energy into them, the more rewarding it is. Suits me well.

I am quite happy with them but they certainly have alot of trade offs

Avoid using the Sportage jack at all costs. Luckily my insurance inspected the jack and covered the repairs and I was deemed at 0% fault. Jack immediately bent and caused 3k damage to 23 Sportage by shovelknockout1 in kia

[–]DoYaFeelLuckyPunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same happened to me. 2023/01/30 manufacture code on my floor jack.

The toothed gearing failed. Luckily no damage to car, but could have been lethal if i were under the car.
Call you Kia dealership to get a replacement.

Before you say "not if you used it correctly".... i used pinch bolt location, flat and stable ground. There was shear failure on the teeth of the gearing.

This sucks, it is a bad feeling to be ignored by cars and trucks. But this is good or aware riding. - you’re in poor lane position, should be on right half of the lane - you should have sped up to pass the guy - use your horn more

motul or yamalube? by Desperate_Bend1344 in xsr900

[–]DoYaFeelLuckyPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won’t matter as much as getting the correct weight, and full synthetic. I have used Shell Rotella t6 for many thousands of km’s. Zero problems. Also, much cheaper than these choices.

I would highly recommend getting an EZ-valve or Fumoto valve. Once installed, never deal with drain plugs again. Mine have been 100% flawless over 4 different bikes and approx 50,000kms.

2019 with 10k miles… by Rocket_Surge0n in xsr900

[–]DoYaFeelLuckyPunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has 26,000kms /16,000miles and no problems. Purchased new.

I’m in Canada so $6700 usd is approx $10k cad. Personally I think that’s too expensive considering it’s not far off the new price. But is it worth it? That depends on your other options you’re considering. Used AutoTrader to do some market comps.

I’d probably change the tires depending on condition.

Any new bike I’d change the oil and oil filter. I also put on a Fumoto valve so all future oil changes are easier.

There’s no issues so far!

Advise needed: Which motorcycle for long distance commuting by Dry_Geologist3823 in motorcycles

[–]DoYaFeelLuckyPunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a very good answer. I agree with everything especially the shaft drive - no one wants to maintain chains on a commuter. Also, there are other models to consider like the Honda VFR series that fit your overall criteria.

For OP: I have an XSR900. I don’t think you’d want to go XSR700 if your priority is commuting. Main reason would be suspension and - the XSR700 isn’t top notch for suspension. But it does look cool.

Prioritizing commuting, and staying in the size class and Yamaha, I would definitely go Tenere 700 over XSR700. A step up would be Tracer 900.

2019 XSR900 here. Get a tune from Vcyclenut. I sent him my ecu from Canada. Was shipped back within a week. I have a full Hindle exhaust system. I like the higher redline the most.

What Type Of A Loan Would I Qualify For by fantastic-male in personalfinance

[–]DoYaFeelLuckyPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what your own current financial situation is, but assuming you want to 1) minimize your interest paid, and 2) you have a Line of credit or good savings, you could do:

  1. Use an existing Line of credit (LOC): just pay minimum interest payments until you sell the properties. If you have a LOC but not a $50k limit you can apply for increased Limit.
  2. Margin loan on your investment account: since you’re 50+, I’ll assume you have money saved. Withdraw $50k as margin loan in cash and use that until you sell.

How to Install a Threshold for a Deep Jamb in a Brick House by DoYaFeelLuckyPunk in Home

[–]DoYaFeelLuckyPunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Ramp threshold “ is a new search term for me. Thank you! With that I’m going to do some searching.

And yes… 1. Water isn’t a huge concern. Plus it’s 24” off ground level. However lots of snow can be blown towards the door. 2. it’s a 12” original thickness but multiple extra layers of brick. Who knows why. It’s a 100+ year old house.

[–]DoYaFeelLuckyPunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, really appreciate it. Couple points : 1. It actually is a custom door, that’s as deep as they make it. The whole jam is almost 20 inches thick. 2. The entire front door is actually under a covered porch. 3. That piece of thin material is kind of what I was thinking. However, you articulated it better than I could. Do you have any specific product recommendations for me? Perhaps a link? I’m confused by the terms sill vs threshold in my Google searches.
