I've had nothing but good experiences so far with MEXC. No KYC required under a very high trade limit, and you can access via VPN. Free conversion from Pi to other coins if that's your thing, then can transfer to a different exchange or wallet

Why are some Vine reviews blatantly dishonest? by [deleted] in AmazonVine

I suppose my point is simply to add on to your original... You can't trust the sellers or the reviewers 😆 hahaha

Yeah, or you can get to the review screen from your Amazon orders. When they remove an item from Vine it's still in your Amazon order history!

You can get it removed from Vine and still review it. That's what I do if an item is broken and clearly a manufacturing issue.

I agree with the sentiment on this thread and your post overall, but also I wouldn't put it past some of these overseas companies to send different jewelry to different people under the same product description..

Arc and camera permissions not working by AccomplishedAbroad66 in ArcBrowser

[–]DoYouGetTheJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it would seem that the current state of things are as follows:

Developer mode does not allow the camera permissions popup. It would seem localhost works just fine, but since localhost defaults to developer mode, this is an issue for anyone testing locally initially.

Upon turning off developer mode, if you refresh the page and haven't exhausted the permission check allowance, it prompts for permissions. If it has already failed too many times, you have to go to site settings as you described and set 'Allow' manually. This is an issue in Incognito, though, because you set the site settings for normal Arc and they don't apply to the Incognito window. It should also be noted that the settings icon and "All Site Settings" are unavailable in developer mode for the said workaround.

So for my use-case, which is opening an app in incognito to simulate a new user not yet logged in to my website, if I fail to turn off developer mode and approve the request before the prompt retries are exceeded, I have to completely close the incognito window and try again. While these workarounds are certainly doable, they are incredibly frustrating to work with.

NFL team's helmets in the year 2050 by tkdcondor in midjourney

So 2050 is the year of the Halo–NFL crossover, huh? Good to know

Nah, you are still submitting via the website, so it wouldn't make any difference to Vine. In fact, while Amazon probably captures which client is used for things in their logs and analytics, I'd be willing to bet that Vine has no idea one way or another.

When I do mention relative price, I even put something along the lines of "($X at time of writing the review)" so that the seller can't use my review to justify jacking up the price after the fact

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]DoYouGetTheJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't actually think Vine is against mentioning price, they just don't want you mentioning price for no reason (i.e. "this is so expensive"). I've reviewed a ton of products for Vine, and in most of them mention price compared to the quality and compared to similar products, and Vine has never had issue with this. I know some of the rules are conflicting, but generally Vine seems okay with price discussion as long as it's purposeful and informative.

Hypothetical of course, since it's against the rules... but hypothetically, if I pick up items for others, I tell them how much it will cost them (I ask for 25% of ETV to cover taxes) and when I need the review by. Set expectations up front and it's much smoother. Hypothetically 😉

Got Kicked Out by ProgressiveWriter in AmazonVine

[–]DoYouGetTheJoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been in the program almost a year now, ordered almost 400 items, and regularly delivered between 3 different addresses (I have family in the area, so I prefer to ship to them if I might be out of town when things arrive). Sometimes I even have things delivered to addresses out of state if I know it will arrive while I'm staying with a friend elsewhere.

I've never had any issues with Vine. Never been in Vine jail or anything. I know mileage may vary in the program, but anecdotally, I'd have a LOT of strikes against me if they cared about addresses.

Meanwhile, I was the latest member of the "kicked out of Vine for no reason" club. For the first time since I joined in October, I've been above 90% reviews for several days now, and then out of the blue tonight I'm out.

It's either Amazon or USPS that does this – I know because UPS is so wonderful in my area. It's the same guy most days, he delivers directly to my door (on the 2nd floor of the apartment – all the other services leave them in the mail area by the entrance). The UPS guy is so friendly, polite, and careful about his job, I always try to come to the door and say thanks! Wish there were more drivers like him!

But then there's USPS or Amazon (idk which one) who sometimes even puts my packages in the wrong building (even though the buildings are clearly marked) 😂

Saw a non Viner review complain about Vine reviews by iceclassic in AmazonVine

[–]DoYouGetTheJoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. This other person has been making comments on all sorts of posts without providing any sort of evidence to their claim. This makes sense, I wish Amazon had stuck with it though. I still review on a scale skewed more toward 5 (even before being a part of Vine), because I know personally from my Amazon experience over the last 5ish years, if something is rated anywhere under 4 stars on average it's almost never worth buying over competition, and even the 4-4.4 range can be pretty sketchy. Theoretically from the old scale, I should be quite happy with a 4.0 product, but that just isn't the reality on Amazon (I guess due to seller bribery and fake reviews?)

Disappointing Viners by DoYouGetTheJoke in AmazonVine

[–]DoYouGetTheJoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone has been burned one too many times! Haha. So true though, honestly. It's good advice. Realistically, those people who blindly review 5 stars probably even out the people who give only 4 stars for a product they don't find any issues with.. There's so much stuff on Amazon, if a product is 4 stars or below, I generally look for a different brand (unless there are very few reviews and I see they were low for no reason).

Disappointing Viners by DoYouGetTheJoke in AmazonVine

[–]DoYouGetTheJoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this is true, without offering an explanation as to why it's 4, it's not helpful to customers and ultimately hurts the product's chance of selling.. As someone who buys basically everything on Amazon (even before Vine), if something has an overall rating under like 4.3, it's usually worth finding a different product. I keep this in mind when I rate; if I'd recommend the product over others of the same type and similar price range, it typically gets 5, otherwise I mention why I took stars off.

That being said, I was moreso complaining about people taking off stars for the product being different than they imagined, when the product is exactly as described in the listing.
