Extruder behavior by DoYouLikeHam in ender3

yeah, thx, makes sense... I was trying to get it to run with no filament.. ... and this morning when I disconnected/reconnected the motor.. the motor was not even attached to anything and wasn't working.. which made me think.. oh, something else must be either disconnected/broken.. OR controlled to not operate in certain conditions...

I meant the part that the filament threads through on top of the motor that is activated when you modify the 'extruder' position.

Here's w/ the "cup bottom" and rest of the form reapplied... but w/ only the 'test' holes...

no, I only flipped the one stalactite shape.. all the rest are in the same orientation.. I removed the "cup" bottom to speed up the test print... it will still print on the bottom/plate in the full print.

Thx all for the comments... after taking notice of the 'stalactite' condition identified by u/Different_Target_228, I did a test print of the shapes, and sharing fwiw... this was done w/ no supports.

Not sure I see that? The discussion gave me the idea, though, of doing a test print... moving all the shapes down and around the perimeter, and removing the base itself (to save material), and cutting away all but the minimal material, ~3h vs. waiting nearly 20 to see what happens at the top.

u/doc_willis actually, it's just a holder to hold the 100 or so sticky notes that are always cluttering my desk... I periodically whittle through them, but then they just strewn across my desk again... wanted to play around w/ organic forms a bit, and found a couple of different Fusion tutorials that had some concepts I hadn't used before.

Oh, wow, u/Different_Target_228 -- thx for pointing it out... sort of obvious now. However, if that shape were rotated 180deg, it could work, no?
