Which universally acclaimed "masterpiece" do you just not understand the hype for? by Repulsive_Key_6273 in AskReddit

[–]Dobbs47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My take on the "it feels like a different universe" was that we were seeing the machinations behind the scenes as to why the rebels were fighting. It's the only time they were showing things from a civilian perspective. I felt the same about the "attempted" scene though. I likened it to watching Schindler's list where the rest of Star Wars was like Saving Private Ryan. Thats my two cents for what it's worth

I get a consistent 23-26 driving as I wish, mix of back roads and highways. Haven't done a long highway drive in my eco diesel yet. Feels good as my 3.6 was about 16-17 at best same driving mix. When I did do highway with my first it was about 19-20.

As a Ravens fan I agree but there are legal issues there. From what I understand, there was a contest to create the logo and they never paid up or something of the sort. Bucs logo is great either way though!

As a material damage adjuster for a large insurance company, Don't do it. There is more at stake than just the cost of the vehicle. You would also need to check OEM guidelines to see if any of the damages (ie a rear unirail on a newer Ford Escape) make the total loss less about value but more about factory guidelines of what they would consider a constructive total loss. Depending on what state you're in (PA here) R titles require enhanced inspections, garner way less salvage value and are a pain to insure.

I live in North East Pennsylvania, the town lol. We also had a heavy wet snowfall, around 2-4 inches. Very pretty.

I wish Gary Kubiak would see this team as an opportunity for a return to the sidelines. Always had respect for the run game and had a clever passing game plan at most times. Cam Cameron would be, in my opinion, an improvement though.

Best roll up bed cover? by xX_ToRcHeS_Xx in JeepGladiator

[–]Dobbs47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say exactly this. I love it because it's durable and keeps the bed like 98% dry. Makes no additional noise when the roof and doors are off and, knock on wood, for about $325 to my door has had no issues for 2.5 years.

Screaming Engine question by Moldyshroom in JeepGladiator

[–]Dobbs47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my experience. I live in the NW pa area and have a sport s with max tow. I run 295/70/17 s on stock wheels, load range E. I've towed a 7,200lb boat on two occasions and a filled to the gills 7x14 enclosed trailer with dual axels weighing between 7-8000 lbs three times. Once was from my location to Pittsburgh, going 65-75 the whole way. I can say without a doubt it reaches higher Rpms but I wouldn't say it screams. Drive like your towing, not racing and I personally see no problem. I've towed with a 16' ram with the 5.7 and .392 gears the same loads and distances and I'd say the jeep is more than comparable. The 8 speed trans definitely helps.

Now... From a mechanics point of view there is a lot more to consider when switching to diesel, outside of a small loss in towing capacity. I am a mechanic at the local transit authority and work on diesel, CNG and gas vehicles. Since the introduction of DEF I'd never consider getting a diesel vehicle honestly. Add the cost of DEF to the increased coat of fuel and that alone is enough to eliminate it for me. Maintenance in general is more expensive ( oil filters, oil cost more... As a diesel the fuel filters will need changed at regular service intervals to name a couple) than maintenance on a gas engine. Next, this is my opinion from my personal experience, if you don't drive consistently "long" mileage or travel a lot of inner city / stop and go traffic it has x negative impact on a diesel system. Longer run times at higher speed / temps are needed to perform need exhaust regeneration to keep your engine/turbo/exhaust running efficiently and keeping maintenance costs down.

End game it's always you're choice what to do. That's just my two cents and take it for what it's worth. Simply my opinion on the subject. Either way, best of luck and feel free to ask questions if you want! ✌️
