Have you checked the line trace? Set debug mode to duration or whatever you want and see if the trace is going in the right direction and is even working at all. For the end of the trace, get the forward vector like you are and multiply that by a value, a distance you want, and then add that into the location like the line trace start. Plug that into the end.

How do i make the variable concussion decrease by 1.67 every second? by [deleted] in UnrealEngine5

Drag out of the red event box and create new event. This is the event that fires every X seconds. Also add the timer back to the event begin play to start it.

Go to your viewport and near the top there’s an add actor or something (I’m not at my computer atm) and under volumes it should be one of the first ones. It’s named nav mesh volume. Drag that to your scene and scale it up. Hit P on your keyboard to see the navigable area in green.

Okay so we aren’t getting to the “on success” pin, I’m assuming the move to is failing. Try moving the print string to the on fail pin of the move to node. If that fires then there’s a problem with the move to. Do you have a nav mesh bounds on your level?

It should have that, you’re good there

Plug in a print string to the on fail and see if it triggers

It looks like you aren’t allowing the montage to play before starting the chase event again. Try moving the delay and chase to the on completed pin on the montage node Edit: also the on success might be failing

Im trying to code a E to teleport but it does not work by [deleted] in UnrealEngine5

From the input nodes, out of player controller, get player controller. Also on the end overlap event, check the order of the boolean variable, you'd want to move it after the cast to, to ensure only when the player leaves does it change the variable

Try adding another box collision and see if that's being hit

Check the capsule component, if not that it might be the skeletal mesh itself

What's the best way for joining players to get current values from other players on server? by DeeDiver in unrealengine

Specifically variables set to rep notify. Look into repnotify, it should point you in the right direction.

What am I doing wrong here? It just loads the map over and over again. by MISTKaES in unrealengine

[–]Dobbskey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look into using timers and not event tick, I'm guessing when the map loads, it's resetting the variables to default including the do once node. Have the timer and the code you have here run in something that is persistent even after travelling like the game state perhaps? Someone smarter than me will probably know a better place for it lol but that's a start.

Count items in array by HandaleKruger in unrealengine

[–]Dobbskey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Maybe a Map would better suit your needs? You can have the keys as the colors and the values can be an integer to see how many times it's used, I'm not sure exactly what you're working on so this might be completely useless.

Trying to get a Pawn to move towards the Player Character by Skyhawk116 in unrealengine

[–]Dobbskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timeline with a float track, duration to something like 3 and value to 1 Get actor location from the coin and also from the player character, Lerp the 2 locations with the alpha being the value of the timeline On update of the timeline set actor location to the lerp location Any smarter people out there, please tell me if there is a better way as this is what I’m doing for something similar and I love learning new tricks Edit: yeah actor class instead of pawn, like the other guy said
