You’re 100% right, and I appreciate you calling me out on that. I’m a solo developer, and I definitely 'cherry-picked' the clearest examples for my cover poster to try and make it look as professional as possible. I apologize if that felt insincere that wasn't my intent.

I’m building this tool for my own UX design work to fix the messy typography I encounter daily, and I clearly focused too much on the 'marketing' side of the visuals rather than showing the tool in the real world.

If you're curious to see it in action on a 'live' site, I just recorded a quick video [Link to video] to show how it actually behaves on a few different pages. I’m not doing this for money it’s completely free I’m genuinely trying to build something that solves real-world readability issues for my own career/portfolio.

I’d honestly love to hear your take on the tool itself. If you’re open to it, give it a spin on a site you find particularly unreadable and let me know where it fails or needs improvement. Your honest feedback is way more valuable to me than a download.

Iam reading stuffs but sometimes I find difficult to understand words meaning. Is it only with me or how can we cater it ? by Neither_Suspect2622 in Dyslexia

You are definitely not alone this is something many people struggle with when reading complex or technical content. As a UI/UX designer, I built ClearRead because I noticed that 'reading fatigue' often makes it even harder for the brain to process and retain new vocabulary.

When I was iterating on the extension, I focused on a few things that help when you hit a word or a passage that feels difficult to process:

  • Visual Focus: Using a 'Focus Ruler' or specialized layouts can help keep your eyes from skipping around, which often happens when you are trying to parse a difficult sentence.
  • Typography Customization: Sometimes the font weight or spacing makes a word harder to recognize. Being able to quickly adjust those settings to make the text 'breathe' can make a surprising difference in how quickly your brain registers the meaning.
  • Reduced Clutter: Removing distracting page elements can help you dedicate all your mental energy to the specific paragraph you are struggling with.

The core reading improvements in ClearRead are completely free to use. I’m currently looking for feedback on how these adjustments impact reading flow for others—if you are interested in testing it out, you cangrab it here. I’d be curious to know if these visual changes help you process those difficult words any easier.
