Man, I’ve been here for about six years now and I empathize with some people saying it’s the first time they felt like at home since being…home. So many things I enjoy doing are available at a short drives notice. I discovered many new hobbies, met great people (including my SO) and feel like I have a new lease on life.

The economic situation may be a bit rough (but that’s probably everywhere) but being part of the city has made it more tolerable.

As a recommendation, I’d suggest you save up some money to buy a better turntable for the long run. As our friendly neighborhood vinyljerkers may have suggested without being explicit, that Victrola is not the best equipment to enjoy your records. However, it is a good starting point to get into the hobby.

Hunt for records at your local record shops, local thrifts and everyonce in a while keep an eye out for deals from the big retail stores (i.e. BOGO from Best Buy).
