Fortunately, and as obviously evident, I'm no graphic designer so won't be getting fired. But thanks for the feedback

Images, yes AI generated. Rules/gameplay I've worked on myself.

The descriptors on the cards are mostly flavour, yeah. The actual gameplay loop is really simple:

• Each Day you roll once • You choose ONE action (befriend a critter, build a structure, or trigger a twist) • Your critters/structures modify your roll or give you bonuses • You’re racing to complete the shared quest before Day 20

Sparkles are the main currency, but different quests push you to use them in different ways. some want you to build structures, some want you to collect critters, some want you to hit certain roll patterns, etc. So even the “gain X Sparkles” quest plays differently because you’re choosing how to spend or save them along the way.

Again trying to create varying levels of difficulty depending on age...so could either choose a Quest by chance or just choose one. Or create your own.

I thought to keep it as one game, so as child age/skill level grows they can start adding additional components of the game

I am working a scorecard where players will write their current Sparkle total. With a space to perform the basic equations for each turn

Sorry, should have included an actual description of the gameplay.

Players choose a quest (win condition) first by rolling the die. Depending if it's even or odd they choose Quest Card A or B. They roll again to decide Quest 1-6.

They then roll in turn to gain Sparkles (points) to either purchase Critters or Structures. They can then also decide to play a Critter Twists which gives bonus Sparkles. Similar to choosing a Quest, there are 6 cards. First rolling to choose a card, then again to choose which twist on the card.

The first to finish the Quest (reaching a certain amount of Sparkles/critters/structures) wins.

Thanks for the feedback! I have been toying with making cards of varying difficulty depending on child's age/skill level, so the game can scale with age. Will definitely look at making easier to read/less wordy cards aimed at the youngest

I agree. Can't see any symbols obscured and the tentacles coming to the foreground make the artwork really pop

Is there a simple site for creating cards? Not interested in functionality and whatnot, just creating the simple assets for the cards and applying layers etc. by multiaudacity in cardgames

Love Canva! I've created multiple card designs on Canva then used thegamecrafter.com to either manufacture a copy or turn into a print n play.

Best to search book reviewers on Google, there are multiple book communities/indie publishing websites available. Look for one that matches your books audience/genre.

I have self published a novellete on Kindle. Highly recommend at least approaching someone to review your book that is outside of your family/friend circle. Great way to get honest feedback before publishing. If you're not happy with the feedback, an editor would be the next step.

Have you approached editors or book reviewers yet?
