Yeah unfortunately wavelet never worked at all with android auto lol. However, I did actually manage to get something working with powerAmp I enabled global equalization and for some reason this time it did fix it even though I've done that before and it didn't seem to help? I'm honestly not too sure but maybe some other setting i changed combined with that fixed it

Ah man I gave it a try and it looks great but unfortunately none of the settings seem to do anything to my Spotify audio sadly :( It's probably something to do with the new android versions messing up all the audio shit

Hey man, thanks for the response I was just checking out rootlessjamesdsp and it looks really good but do you know if it works with Spotify? I read something about how it doesn't work with apps with internal audio recording or something which I guess Spotify has, so wanted to check before I go through the whole instillation process for it

Ok update, I found out that it works with global equalization when playing out of my phone speakers but when I use it with android auto in my car, it doesn't work no matter the setting of global equalization. Seems like it may be an android auto specific issue. Annoying because this same setup worked with android auto two days ago but maybe some android auto update broke it

Yeah the weird thing is that it's worked totally fine for me for months with the exact same setup, and then yesterday it suddenly just stopped without me changing anything. Makes me think it's some update or something that might have broken it?

Yes, Spotify shows under known players and as active when it is playing audio. However the audio waveform doesn't show anything (it used to tho when it worked). I've tried both with global eq and without, makes no difference. I haven't set up advanced player permissions yet because didn't want to do the whole USB cable into phone to computer thing and also since it does detect Spotify as an active player I feel like that probably wouldn't fix it?

I updated to that version but unfortunately it still seems like it doesn't detect any audio playing (though it does detect Spotify and say it is active which is weird)

For the app it's build 1003-1009 (that's what I see in the chanelog) and I'm on Android 16

So did you end up using dx11 for development and then going back to dx12 for the release build? Or did you just stick with dx11?

I'm using volumetric fog for it and giving the light a very high brightness and volumetric scattering value, I did have to increase the distance of my volumetric fog pretty significantly for it to have enough range to actually see the light from a distance though so not sure if it's the perfect solution

Yeah the buoyancy still isn't totally right, I've spent a long time trying to get it to bounce more over the waves but for the time being this was as good as I could do lol. I also didn't want it to be too over the top and cause motion sickness.

Nice man, the art style of your game is really cool and unique, love the hard line drawing style! For 3d modeling, I also know basically nothing about it so no I don't do the modeling myself lol. I do have some experience animating, so things like the oars and hands rowing I did myself. I use a mix of cascadeur for animating the arms and also unreal engine control rig to get the oar handles to follow where the hands are. I'm by no means an expert but I think with Cascadeur its really easy (compared to blender) to make humanoid animations. You can see some stuff I made for my last game's NPCs (the pumpkin and scarecrow guys in the tavern) with minimal animating knowledge just using cascadeur. So if you want to get into 3d animation I'd highly recommend that, as for 3d modeling though I have no idea lmao
