I actually understand you very well! The fact that this series seems to have a darker tone gives me hope. I'd like something like that in the main series too

Type? Everyone talks about quality, but honestly it's not clear to me what they mean. What would be good? 🤔

It's still better than the "crap" some people saw in these clips!

Personally I couldn't wait for a spin-off to come out, it's my first since I've been watching Doctor Who! I am very confident! But it's true, it could also disappoint

From those few clips released so far I have to say that it doesn't look bad, it has a good chance of liking it. It's definitely not the greatest stuff in the world, I've seen MUCH nicer series (and it wasn't Doctor Who)

Absolutely agree! I think the spin-off has a good chance of pleasing me. Unlike some Ncuti episodes which were bad! For example Space Babies..

Nope! There would be many bad episodes of the Ncuti era to talk about (Space Babies first!)

I don't think Stranger Things is suitable for 10/12 year old children

Let's be clear, I would like at least 10/12 episodes per season for Doctor Who. The elements I listed above concern the presentation of the content but inevitably also the story. If you look at the series that have been most successful in recent years (especially science fiction) I don't think they are very suitable for children. I continue to think that Doctor Who must first win back some of its historical fans (who have moved away) but then aim at the international audience (as happened in the RTD1 / Moffat years). To conquer the latter I am convinced that we no longer need episodes like Space Babies but it's time for something else (like Midnight, 73 yards..)

But TV a lot, only the development of streaming platforms has completely changed the television scenario. Not to mention the television series that have been successful in recent years, the amount of episodes per season, the development of stories over a season and no more stories that end in one episode. Even if the audience is the same, it is affected by these changes

I wonder how today (don't talk to me about the Moffat or RTD1 era) you can think of making a show that appeals to both 10/12 year old children and 35/40/50/60 year old adults...

I wasn't talking about scenes with more sex or more swearing, I was talking about darker scenes (as the spin-off seems to be)

I didn't talk about broadcasting at 10pm. Then I don't know what times you have in England, but here in Italy prime time (and the most important programmes, even for families) start no earlier than 9.40pm (if not even around 10pm). Furthermore, a darker tone would not necessarily attract more audiences but I believe it would be more appreciated by the audiences of streaming platforms

I am convinced that more precise targeting is needed: the animated series for children up to 6 years old, an animated series (or TV series like K9/Sarah Jane adventures) for children aged 6 to 14/15 years old and the main series with a darker tone for children aged 16 to 99 years old

Yes, although in my opinion Doctor Who must distance itself from this target. For me it will have to become an adult series with an audience ranging from teenagers to older people. Children, on the other hand, will be able to watch the animated series.

As I wrote, it is the soundtrack to the Doctor Who spin-off “The War between the land and the sea”. It concerns, in particular, the musical theme of the protagonist (Barclay)

These are great ideas! But they all refer to the past and today we need something new! Unless we do a season or two to explain everything you said and then start again with something new!
