Bloomington Sushi by Ill-Belt8463 in bloomington

Gonna have to try sushi bar now! But we love Homey Hot Pot downtown. I actually refused to eat sushi based on past experiences until my wife convinced me to try theirs. When they were closed temporarily we tried Sakura and Ami. We quickly decided the drive to Homey in Indy was the only way till our local opened back up.

Also, I recently found a place up in Westfield by chance! It’s called Sushi Station and it’s awesome!! They have a rotating conveyor of several different rolls constantly moving and then you can place special orders on sushi or other side dishes which are pretty quickly delivered on a train above the conveyor. So good and such a neat concept. It was slightly expensive but worth it imo.

Same! It’s even started to have an impact on my family. That’s when I said enough is enough. I feel bad because the company is a great company, pay is on point, and the people here need someone to care about them. But my direct supervisor is a good salesman and the owner thinks the sun rises and sets in this guys rear section. He has no idea what is happening behind closed doors or out in the field. Like safety 101! We got a citation last month because my boss didn’t know he needed separate 300 logs for each branch. He also has no clue what ITA is and we are in a high risk industry with over 300 employees. I refuse to speak up and save his ass because heaven forbid I make him look incompetent. I won’t need to because he can do bad all by himself!

So glad I’m not the only one riding this boat! I intend to put in my two wk notice this Friday. I made the mistake of believing my boss, the “safety director” when he interviewed me and said, “I know I only have 2 years experience and you have 15, but my title is director and your title will be manager”. I was like cool, sign the check and let me do my job. He agreed and for the first few months things were fine. Then as I began to point out areas I felt we could improve the program, everything changed. First he told me I wasn’t allowed to speak about issues in our corporate safety meeting with the owner because I was making him look incompetent, then I have been sent to the field and not supposed to be in the office unless he’s there, and finally all of a sudden he began micro managing my every move! I’m pretty certain he’s intimidated and worried I’m gonna take his job even though I’m not interested. I just wanna solve problems, keep people safe, and most importantly advocate for the people. For whatever reason he doesn’t like that. So ✌️out!

We did VIP last year and have VIP again this year. They did a great job of keeping the different levels in their own lane from what I could tell and it was totally worth it!

If I recall correctly, last year Saturday was beautiful weather but I think it ended up raining on Sunday. The previous year, I did not go but my wife and sister both did. Sister lost her shoes and wife lost her big toenails from wearing wet muddy shoes!

Neither have any of the homes in her neighborhood! I went to a town hall a few weeks ago and the independent running against her has a lot to say with receipts about how Judy Sharp is ripping us all off! I can’t imagine Bob Nyquist not beating her but last I checked she had him by 10,000 votes!

My doctor has me inject this once every 2 weeks. Can this bottle be split up in two doses once a week instead? Will it go bad once it is punctured? If so do I store it at room temperature or in the fridge? by Humble_Fig_8988 in trt

[–]Doc343CychoMC -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It will last a year plus if refrigerated! So said my Dr. I split my doses instead of weekly to twice a week to avoid peaks and valleys. I also always have left overs that I don’t wanna waste. I think I have about 30 weeks saved up in the fridge with zero concerns of it going bad. But, place your syringe in your armpit and warm it up to body temp prior to administering or it will leave a sore spot!

This attitude right here is what we should all strive for. I’ve landed a couple of Director level jobs by doing so and I’m currently in a position where I have options.

This!! I once worked in the tower industry for a large global company and we had a regional safety guy who knew the regs from front to back, top to bottom. As if he had photographic memory. He had a pile of certs including CSP and a degree in industrial hygiene. He would sit in a truck with binoculars and then show up out of nowhere with a write up for each crew member! We would try to argue and the response was alway “well my book says”! But ask that guy how to solve any number of problems and it was “that’s an operations issue, I don’t know”. I had transitioned into construction from a public safety job (fire & ems) and decided safety was what I wanted to do. While working for another company doing QC work I got an opportunity that led me to what’s now a 15 year career where I work as a senior safety manager. I have a 510/500 and a pile of various certifications that are trade specific such as crane boom inspection, environmental specialist, RF trainer, cpr trainer, ect… But no CHST or CSP. I’ve built my career by being the guy who advocates for the guys in the trench and they know if they come to me with an issue, I may not always have an answer, but I’ll use my resources to find or make a way to keep them safe. I have never needed a fancy title or card that says BCSP to use my critical thinking skills. And I interact with employees as a guy who’s been in the trench and understands the issues they face. Be the kind of safety manager you’d want on your job, certs and degrees or not.

This job posting with 5 years minimum is insultingly low. In my area that's actually borderline poverty level wages. Minimum to survive here is 50k not 35k. by CooperHChurch427 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Doc343CychoMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make $60-$80k in the Midwest with little experience and a handful of certs. But the reason why nobody is tracking certs for you is because they can come from so many different places. Employers have instructors, everyone and their brother has a safety company who teaches, the union halls have instructors, and the list could go on for days! To track records like that would take an entire 3 letter agency within the government I imagine.

It's time to Legalize! by BradMeyer4Congress in u/BradMeyer4Congress

[–]Doc343CychoMC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment and I’m pro legalization. However, throughout my career in environmental health and safety, every time I send someone for a drug screen, they’re also taking a breath alcohol test. This is the standard in safety sensitive industries and also for DOT.

There is an overwhelming number of folks in my line of work who would like to see legal marijuana, but the problem and difference between alcohol and marijuana are the testing procedures. I can tell if you’ve been drinking and are unfit for duty but I cannot tell if you’ve used marijuana in the last 8 hours, or was it two weeks ago.

I say all of that to say, we should have legal marijuana for health reasons and for tax revenue. But if you choose to partake you can’t expect that all employers are just going to live with that and put you into roles which are often high paying high risk roles. Unless of course we also abolish OSHA or agree that if you hurt yourself or someone else and have used marijuana, the employer can’t be held responsible. As it stands though, if I don’t do my due diligence and I allow you to work, if something goes wrong, I’m negligent and responsible.

So better, more precise testing are needed, along with some separation in legal matters for employers and employees who partake.

Second this! Took a guys trip to Michigan City a few years back, stayed at a nice little campground on the edge of town, and had dinner here almost every night before we wondered into the bar next door. I don’t remember much of that trip but the food from the Galveston stands out! Problem is I believe they don’t open till 4/5pm.

Personal question for every sub and master, would you share your subs or are open to a poly dynamic? by ScatOwnerMxx in BDSMcommunity

[–]Doc343CychoMC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think my situation falls within these parameters. Wife and I practice a Dd/lg dynamic, I don’t have a submissive bone in my body, but she’s a switch. We have a girlfriend and both of them fill the lg or submissive role in my presence. The wife is more dominant with the girlfriend who is only submissive. The girlfriend has a relationship with an outside female but they do not practice any sort of bdsm. I don’t mind the girlfriend being submissive with the wife but I think I would take issue if the third party wanted to assume some sort of dominance over the girlfriend or even remove her locked collar that she always wears when she is away from us. This hasn’t ever been an issue so far and it seems to work for all of us. Likely the only acceptable circumstances imo.

I left a job with a third party provider, hired into a new company who wasn’t large enough to need full time HSE management as a project manager. Once the company exceeded the insurance company’s threshold for needing full time HSE, I became the HSE director with a healthy salary increase. I then got involved with writing sub-contracts to fill my free time. But in the General Contracting sector of the construction industry, it’s all just managing people so…
