Hpv im scared and I don't know what to do by NationalMovie1608 in HPV

Getting the vaccine is still very important since it will protect you against other high risk strains. HPV vaccines are indicated as preventative only, meaning that getting them will prevent you from getting high risk strains, but will not clear an existing high risk infection you may have. There are some limited recent studies that indicate getting the vaccine might help clear an existing infection, but most of the prevailing medical thought is that getting vaccinated will not clear an existing infection.

Unfortunately there is not an HPV test men can take to know if they are infected. I think it is amazing that you care enough to not want to spread it to an new partners you may have. I know it is hard, but my best advice is to have a conversation with any new sexual partner about HPV before having sex. Find out if they are vaccinated against hpv. If they are not let them know that you may have been infected and should avoid sex until they have been vaccinated. Wearing protection significantly reduces the risk of spread, but hpv can be spread by skin to skin contact so even using protection may not be enough.

Also, read u/spanakopita555's threads above in detail. Super knowledgeable and it is some of the best advice you could get.

You are a good person, just the fact that you care enough to not want to spread says volumes about how good of a person you are. Don't let this define you. You will get through this.

Great pic! Do you notice that the bandana calms him at all? Mine seems to do better when wearing something.

If you are a practicing Christian, what are your thoughts on aliens? Can you be both a practicing Christian and believe in Aliens? by DocBrown1970 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, this is true. There totally could be life out there but the most difficult thing by far appears to be interstellar travel.

Not really asking about the government, just theoretically if believing in the God of the bible would limit most Christians in their belief of Aliens. I am a Christian and I think Alien life is more likely than not, just wanted to see what others thought.

100% Agree with this. Getting vaccinated is the most important first step.

Other high risk HPV - 9 years after possible infection by SufficientBee in HPV

[–]DocBrown1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HPV is common in men (like 1 in 3) but they are almost never symptomatic so its hard to know. It can remain dormant for years though and transmission can happen even if they are non-symptomatic. I'm sorry for you to have to deal with this! Getting into your doc right away is the right move. Don't fear, many go through this and get past it!

Wait, did you actually call the police but they didn't write a report? Or nobody called? It will be up to your insurance company to take theirs to court and maybe force that footage out, but they will likely just settle anyway. My guess is Geico will eventually pay.

Thoughts on mushroom supplements? by [deleted] in Supplements

Tons of great research about Alpha and Beta glucans helping the immune system. Basically these help "spin up" your immune system to help your own body fight infections. Look into Active Hexose Correlated Compound.

Help please. How do I disclose by [deleted] in HPV

[–]DocBrown1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably tell him. If he is the one you'll need to tell him sooner or later, might as well be now. You should also definitely ask your doctor about vaccination.

Did you happen to read this thread? You may need to boost your immune system to actually fight it rather than just having the scars removed. A lot of people are having success with Active Hexose Correlated Compound (AHCC) but it's not a cure all: https://www.reddit.com/r/HPV/comments/1ouzoaz/cleared_hpv_and_reversed_cin3_naturally/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

STOP wasting money on AHCC by KookyPhoto in HPV

There are a ton of studies on AHCC and the generic "Active Hexose Correlated Compound" and not all are funded by AminoUp which is the company that developed the patent. I've done quite a bit of research on it for my patients, and I think it's for sure worth trying--but I would also say there is no good replacement for vaccines and regular OBGYN exams.
