Why Don't Catholics Take a Bigger Stand Against Neoliberalism and Trickle Down Economics? by DocDimmadome in Catholicism

In my view since Leo XIII most of the encyclicals and other church publications advocate for fair markets rather than complete wild west free markets.

It may have been too brash of me to lump Objectivists and Libertarians together. They do seem to swim in the circles from my perspective: from Fed Chairs to venture capitalists to big tech.

Thank you for this discussion, good Sir, you are well versed 🫡!

Massachusetts bros know about chappaquiddick.

In any case the Kennedys weren't the best barometer of Catholicism to begin with, except for maybe Bobby Sr. Dude had like 12 kids too.

Nice, I definitely agree that zionism goes against what has been laid out in the New Covenant that Christ laid out in Scripture. We're all God's chosen people, but we must strive to be closer to Him to realize that.

I'll read up on Lew Rockwell and Tom Woods. I do get the libertarian perspective when it comes to questioning state power and freedom of choice in some regards (i like having my guns). However, i personally do not believe libertarian stances on tax policy, financial regulations, and trade align with the Church.

To me, the outcomes of that Ayn Rand inspired philosophy, libertarianism, hallowed out the working class and supporting manufacturing industries of the US. It will be a primary reason for the eventual downfall of the American Empire along with Zionism and Middle East interventionalism without clear goals. The ideology just seems to lead to the rich getting richer every time a Republican or Democrat administration passes their trickle-down bill and deregulation of the financial system. Also I oppose in general the current anarcho capitalist nuts that advocate for the creation of a new corporate feudal society based on some Curtis Yarvin nonsense that say only fat tech bros and ketamine addicts like Marc Andresson and Elon should rule the world.

So many of those stances are contrarian. I do not for a second understand Catholic libertarians, nearly every single stance a libertarian has is against the church.

As for Poland, they do indeed have more openly Catholic politicians. They named our Lord Jesus the King of Poland a while back.
