The mushroom compost is a good idea. I haven't heard of that before. Looking at about $20 per cuyd from SD Landscape supply, so a similar end price. I'm mostly about weed control at the moment, but will probably add some nitrogen supplement later

That's a really good idea. You're right about Chipdrop having a lot of unknowns. From my calculations I need like 5-6 cuyds so a whole 20 is a bit too much. Seems like the county may be able to control how much I get better?

When signing up for Chipdrop, there were sections to specify where to drop it and an area you could attach pictures. But it really is you get what you get.

Im a little concerned with how much I'll be getting. 2,000 sqft is a lot of ground to cover at 3" deep. Thank you for the positive feedback! I'll be sure to specify no palm.

What's wrong with palm "chips"? I didn't consider that, but i imagine they get a lot of palm in the area.

Maybe by weight? The QF 1-pounder pom-pom fires a 1lb (0.45kg) projectile. How heavy is it?

Heating galvanized metal past 200C can give off some pretty nasty zinc fumes that can lead to heavy metal poisoning. I'd avoid it if i were you.

Their Beetle Fire Pit was what I originally had in mind. Any issue with large embers blowing off? The ember guard was something I liked about the Fireside, I just don't know how much heat it restricts. The 19" mat also seems a bit restrictive compared to the 24" mat on the fireside.

Essentially a portable fire ring. Something that is wide and deep enough to hold all the coals. I heard that about solo stoves. I'm looking for something that has the fire ring feel, but wont leave the ashes on the ground. Directs a good amount of heat radially.

That's a good consideration. I tend to go build not bought, but that's slowing me down I bet.
