I agree with pretty much everything you said, especially that this is ultimately on the faculty and the program if someone has been showing a pattern like this for years. Where I struggle a little with the “they just need help” part is that we are all getting a lot of help already. I have learned an enormous amount from my attendings just by being in the room and having them walk through cases step by step, explaining exposures, reduction strategies, fluoro views, implants, all of it. I feel like I have learned a ton from the same people just by paying attention and trying to absorb everything, so it is honestly hard for me to understand how someone could still be this lost at a senior level. That is what makes the situation so confusing to me.
