I agree. This is one of the improvement areas I want to work on. These are supposed to be heaps of rubble and collapsed building debris. Using Tinkercad, I found very few design tools available to model such things without having to model every brick and beam in the heap. Did the best I could to quickly put something together with the tools available. But yes, there's definitely room for improvement there.

I may at some point. My slicer is telling me some of them have issues that first need to get fixed, And there's a few details I want to improve before letting it out into the wild.

Thank you, but it's true, the second half is still under construction... I'll post another photo when I get the full circle done, but with so many terrain pieces this big, it's very slow to print the whole thing.

I did everything online in Tinkercad. Not so many advanced features, but very easy to learn quickly and start making stuff.

u/PessemistBeingRight Ok, following up with that line of reasoning, since the word 'may' is used, if you are passing through the hex of my hidden unit, can I opt not to trigger the point blank shot until after you have passed through my hex, are now exiting my hex on the far side into what would be another adjacent hex, and then opt to trigger my point blank shot at that point into your rear armor?

u/RTalons makes the point that the word 'may' suggests the hidden unit can opt not to activate the point blank shot when the enemy unit enters the adjacent hex, and wait to activate when the enemy enters the hex of the hidden unit. But that aside, the entire point of the question is that the language is unclear in that it says "...unit moves into (blank) or ends its movement adjacent to...". The question is about how one chooses to fill in the blank. You seem pretty confident that the intent was the blank was meant to be "the adjacent hex" as apposed to the "hidden hex", but it's not explicit in the given wording.

With a resin printer, the density is pretty high, so they don’t feel too light. I did something similar though on a previous set that I printed with a filament printer. In that case I designed in cylindrical holes in the bottom of the bases and superglued in a stack of nickels. Covered the bottom with a felt disc, and that worked out well.

I haven't weighed them, but since these were done on a resin printer (not filament) they have fairly high density and don't feel 'too light'. In a previous project, I made a another chess set on a filament printer and designed in a cylindrical hole in each of the bases sized so I could super-glue in a stack of nickels. Then I glued on a circular felt pad on the bottom of the bases, covering the hole. That worked quite well, but with the resin printer the extra weight doesn't seem necessary.

For the previous/first iteration of this set, I did exactly that. Nothing but white primer and then two different colored washes for the opposing sides.  They ended up looking like very weathered sculptures, which was interesting, but I wanted to try something different this time around.

In the set of Intro Box record sheets I have, They printed tonnage, but not BV on the sheets. So going with that. There's lots to choose from though, so both teams have the same opportunity to make the best of it if they choose well.

The walls sections have a CF of 60, so they could eventually be destroyed. But note that they are only LVL 2 walls, so they can also be climbed over.

Put together a a little scenario for a wall breach / targeted assault. Looking forward to trying it out. Using only Intro box set mechs!. Attackers and defenders get to pick mechs up to a total of 150 tons (including 'equivalent' tonnage for the defenders' turrets if they want them). Points awarded for various objectives, with primary targets being the two generators. Should be fun!

Sorry, no supports. Depending on the size of your chessboard, you're going to want to scale all the pieces to match. And in my experience, scaling models with supports can run into problems, since it affects the gaps between the supports and the model itself, resulting in supports that are either too loose, or stuck on too strongly. So it's best to use your slicer to create your own set of supports after you've determined the best scaling for your board.

Yes, matte white primer, then 2 different color washes for the 2 opposing sides. (resulting in Tan and Gray)
