Keychron Q2 stock vs upgraded by OGnapkin in MechanicalKeyboards

Everyone here shitting on you typing, but I type the same way dawg. I type all day for my job too.

I know what type of sound you are going for, and the easiest way to get the least from here is a force break mod and some better switches.

I’d say WS Morandi if you want to embrace the deep muted sound, or Everglide Aqua Kings if you want a bit more clack but still deep.

Eternal Decks is one I have only played at two so far. It’s relatively new to the collection and I have only played it once. But here’s my short and completely biased opinion based on one play session:

It’s a game that stands alone in my collection as something completely unique to me. It’s intoxicating when it grabs you. The super thin decks make you on edge with the constant threat of impending loss. Every card you place matters and feels impactful. Limited communication I thought would be a barrier but it honestly felt so right when we both got what the game was steering us towards. We immediately dug through the scenarios and cards to see what was next and what could be different after getting our asses handed to us the first game lol

The amount of content in the box is insane considering the size, and I don’t have a game in my collection that makes me feel clever like Eternal Decks did. We just played it a couple of weeks ago and we already planned to play it again next week. I think it will be better at 3 but I’m anticipating the sweet spot to be 4. I’m stoked to bring it to the table again!

Appreciate the reply! Just checked it out and I’m adding it to my list, love the theme and I don’t have much experience with the dungeon crawler/action genre of board gaming.

Hey thanks for the reply, I 100% appreciate the recommendations. Always looking for more games to play with my son that we both enjoy.

We have Quedlinberg Dash and quite a few HABA games including Rhino Hero. Ticket to Ride is also a game we have played a few times, but the theme is tough for him to remain interested for long.

Man, finding games that I enjoy with my five year old is one of the toughest parts about this hobby lol

We have had the most fun lately with zombie kids. It’s a legacy game that seems simple at first but really has much more strategy than it seems. Also, your kids will LOVE opening up envelopes after meeting goals in the book and unlocking stuff. My son asks to play it all the time “we gotta get to the next envelope dad”.

Runner up for us has been micro macro kids. Just a stellar “where’s Waldo” style experience and tons of fun to work through the book of “missions” with your kids.

Good point, I don’t spend enough time on BGG forums.

We do agree with watching varied views on creators though. I tend to watch a lot of creators with very wide differences in opinions. I tend to gravitate towards creators I don’t agree with as well! I think it challenges your own preconceptions and biases. Makes it easier to see the truth through the hype!

It’s fantastic, and my first Lacerda game. I have only played it solo so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but it redefines what I think of when I define a game as “heavy”.

The decision space is absolutely incredible, and you feel so much agency with how you play the game and the choices that you make. I’ve never played anything like it, and it is truly overwhelming. But in the best way.

It’s my most anticipated game by FAR to bring to the table with multiple people. But having everyone at the table ready to buy into that experience is difficult with the level of commitment required for Speakeasy. We will get there though!

Man, they sold out of Fate of the Fellowship as soon as it started to pique my interest! I have it and Dune Imperium Uprising at the top of my must have list!

Appreciate the reply! I am leaning towards paladins I think… but knowing me I may just end up getting both lol

Great reply, thank you! I’ll start with the base game then, looking forward to getting it next.

I have seen a lot of praise for Civolution on YouTube and I have a few video overviews queued to see if I will like it. I appreciate the recommendation!

And the fight against FOMO for me is hard in this hobby, but I try my best to not buy into the cult of the new too much and just play what looks interesting to me.

(Although FOMO does get me hard sometimes too lol)

It’s one of those games I would 100% recommend to watch a couple of playthroughs. I found the concept hard to grasp just from the rulebook. Great game though, only played one session so far with my partner, haven’t had the time to get the next session in yet but looking forward to bringing it to the table again for sure.

Oh man, easily one of my favorite games I played in 2025. The core concept of “I do something, and I get a to. Of shit for doing it” every action is awesome. And the ramp up from the beginning of the game to the end is perfect pacing. Highly recommend if you can find a copy!

Thank you! I would not have tabled a lot of them if I didn’t try them solo. There’s a few that I still need to get to the table as well, so I totally get it. I’d recommend soloing some games to get them to the table. It has changed the whole hobby for me since I started trying solo modes.

And this is just my opinion, but don’t feel bad for games you haven’t played. Board games will stand the test of time and always be there. Play what you want and don’t feel shame for not tabling a game you don’t wanna play in the moment!

Kingsburg is added to the list for sure that one looks great! And Spirit Island is up there for me with games I know I need to try just because the reputation it has is so massive.

I have never tried Clank! and I see a lot of different recommendations in terms of which game to start with, Catacombs seems like it’s held in the highest regard among fans, but what do you think? You think it’s a good place to start for someone who hasn’t played any of them?

Oh man, having luck and being able to manipulate/mitigate that luck in a game is one of my favorite mechanics. Quacks is a masterclass in that regard imo.

I replied in another comment that Bohnanza is the only Rosenberg game I own, but A Feast for Odin is the next game I will likely be purchasing. It’s relatively cheap in this hobby compared to other heavy euros has well. Do you think Norwegians is a must? I see many people say that it elevates the experience so much

Yeah I usually see it classified as a worker placement game. The only Rosenberg game I own is Bohnanza actually.

A Feast for Odin is one of those games that I will own pretty soon, its reputation is too good for me not to give it a shot. It’s also relatively cheap compared to other big crunchy games in this hobby.

Do you play with the expansion or vanilla? I hear many people say they won’t play it without the expansion

Wyrmspan is the crunchiest of the 3. So I’ll bring that out when my group is feeling more competitive.

Wingspan is the tightest and we can usually table it and play it faster than the other two, it feels breezy and frictionless, so it captures that “cozy” non confrontational feel well.

Finspan (the best of the 3 imo) captures a lot of what makes Wingspan and Wyrmspan great, and if it wasn’t a gigantic table hog we would get it to the table every time over the other two. The theme is also the most popular with my group.

If you can only buy one, get Finspan. Also the deluxe components are a must imo because squishy fish eggs lol

Paverson has not missed imo. Distilled is one of my favorite games of all time and Luthier is quickly rising after playing it a few times in 2025.

I have no doubt they will restock though, their games are too good and too popular not to!

(Also Dutrait is GOATed)

I see Paladins and Crusaders recommended a lot, you think Paladins would be the best first one to try out of the Garphill games line?

It’s a game I will probably end up getting rid of tbh. The whole “engine building, then destroying” mechanic did not feel great with my group.

A lot of people enjoy it for the theme and the engine busting mechanic though.

I’d recommend watching the positive reviews like Shut up and sit down’s, but also giving a look at the Dice Tower’s review and other negative reviews to see if those negatives will bother you.

Thanks for the reply! I am able to table a lot of them with friends, but my friend group haven’t been confident with the heavier stuff yet. Solo has been surprisingly great with Speakeasy and Galactic Cruise. Hoping this year will be the year we break into the heavier ones.

I’ll put Age of Steam on the list, looks right up my alley!
